Gmac released

GMac was one of the best, we were lucky to have him for so long.

My inside knowledge (which is limited) comes from an ex player and club legend. I have the occasional pint and catch up with him. He wouldn’t go into detail regarding the danes signings but said back payments were made etc….

Thank you Gmac, what a pleasure it was to you in the quarters.

This ex player was Bloomfields ex player I take it .

How would he know this anyway? players being versed in the financial transactions of the club is not likely if you ask me .

What you have produced is still nothing more than rumour .

An absolute quality player, who got the culture and ethos of the club. Great role model who was still more than capable of impacting games. I can’t help thinking that the likes of GMAC and Vokesy would still add something on the pitch..

I haven’t produced anything that hasn’t already been brought up. What shocks me is you can fight the owners corner. They’ve literally destroyed our club over the past 12months. We’ve got amazing training facilities, great we’ll have the greatest training ground in none league if they continue.

One of the best to wear the shirt, a real pleasure to watch over the last 5 years. He truly bought in to the culture that we once had. I can’t imagine he’s enjoyed the last few months. Good luck and thanks for the memories!

The reason you are shocked is that you are clearly driven by resentment and I am not . Your words alone suggest this. I expect an ex player to have about as much knowledge of the financial goings on at our football club as a shelf stacker would at Waitrose in Beaconsfield does in theirs. If and when I hear or see credible evidence that they have behaved like you say I will be won around . Until then I will not be making judgement based on an internet lynching using conjecture and rumours .

This is exactly what has happened on here and on the facebook group.

I have come around to the fact Dodds is not the man for the job but I am not going to be persuaded by chinese whispers from ex employees or players with an axe to grind . Whenever there is a takeover of a company ( which a football club now is) there are big changes which leaves disgruntled people . I have been there seen it and worn the t-shirt multiple times .

Sorry but ā€œI occasionally meet up for a beer with an ex player ā€œ doesn’t cut it for me . If some real evidence comes out I will happily eat my words . The have made mistakes but I still believe they want this to succeed .

The situation you describe is common when a business in distress is acquired, and changes are made to try and reverse its ailing fortunes.

Our new owners took over a club that had a fantastic culture, and was absolutely flying.

If that happened in the regular business world, it would be wise to try and retain the existing key staff, and the culture, that was doing so well.

Imagine using the farewell GMac thread to start your favourite arguments. Classy @James

I actually removed that . With hindsight we are not exactly the same as a company in the sense that there are fans involved and club tradition .

I have worked for several companies however who were not ailing . Huge change and a different company ethos has then arrived after being bought out . Lots of employees have not liked the changes and left . Driven by resentment most have not had a good word to say about the new owners or the way the company has changed .

I disagree it’s always ailing companies . Often it is a family run business being taken over by a PLC.

I think several people other than myself did this by suggesting he was either pushed out or that the owners had likely mistreated him in some way .Yet again all I did was respond to this . I started nothing . I would suggest what isn’t very classy is you making accusations against the ownership with the tool of chinese whispers .

Can’t help yourself can you.

Pot,kettle,black . hypocracy in it’s purest form .

Back on topic, I’m absolutely gutted GMac has gone. An unbelievable pro - he’d often look like one of the youngest and fittest on the pitch when coming up against 18 year olds. One of the greats of the modern Wycombe era.

You are not wrong . He looked like he was tiring last season but he has been fantastic for us . Including scoring some absolute screamers in his first couple of seasons .

Truly one of the greatest players in the club’s history.

All the best GMac, you were an absolute joy to watch

Lost all the pace he had in that 2-0 win over Plymouth, sadly

Someone said to me a week ago don’t get involved and that was superb advice.

There’s room for you with us GMac. We will give you some games as you gain coaching experience. (Maybe a future Manager, even). Even if you go elsewhere, good luck.
