It wouldn’t surprise me if GMac had to negotiate his exit. I can’t imagine he’s liked what he’s had to witness both on and off the field. That post from the other day was somewhat cryptic.
Would love it if he told the truth and not some shit masked propaganda story…..but we know what it will be
GMac was a player who oozed class and was a pleasure to watch. Sad to see him leave but impossible to see how he would have got any pleasure in this current totally classless set-up.
Yet another sad day under this set of owners.
We was 39 next birthday .
Vokes,Taf and now GMac. All part of that great victory over MK. I was lucky to be amongst those at the second leg. The minutes after the final whistle with the players in front of our support were some of the greatest in my time supporting this club.
I still believe the effort the players made in those two legs, against a very good MK side, drained every drop of energy they had. It was the Wycombe way which has sadly now left us.
Good luck GMac ![]()
Quality player and one of our best , however approaching 39, is he better then the majority of our new players at the moment no . Fundamentally it’s the manager fault at why we are in this mess really do think we have a great squad we need strikers but saying Gmac is the answer at this time is wrong . I wish him well in what ever team or role he is going too .
Perhaps not the answer but having played 50 games last season he still had much to offer on and off the pitch, and the final ball / shot is certainly missing at the moment.
Perhaps if we were concerned about him being on the wain last season he should have been used more sparingly. Wether he could have helped off the pitch equally valid.
This was a massively important goal in the period when we turned the corner under MB:
Those memories of the players sat down facing the fans soaking it all in are my favourite ever memories of being a Wycombe fan.
Couldn’t have said it better myself
Maybe Posh at home?
In guitarist terms…
Wycombe under Ainsworth: Johnny Ramone
Wycombe under Bloomfield: Prince
Wycombe under Rice & Dodds: that bloke down the pub who worships Stevie Ray Vaughan
A true Wycombe legend and a sad day to be a Chairboy. All the best GMac, a model professional throughout and you’ll be missed. All the best for your next Club, you’ve still got a lot left to give!
With a £10k guitar
An amazing player for us who joined under a cloud and out of love for the game. Gareth (and Matt) was able to turn the latter part of his career around where he was able to turn matches on their head, inspire moments we could dream of, fire up the crowd and always gave his all. He leaves with his head held high, our deepest respects and well wishes for the future!
(And directions to Gillingham - I’ve already put £5 on them signing him!)
No, not a satanic cult. Just arrogant and completely clueless the results speak for themselves the performances more.so
Brilliant in his early seasons hitting some absolute bangers. And was a real game changer at league 1 with us for a couple of years.
Makes sense if the extra year was triggered on appearances as most people thought the summer was the natural ending point. A shame to have stayed on then been “injured” and then leave like this.
Hopefully he has a good season elsewhere now.
Imagine if he’d retired 5 years ago. That’d have been a crime!
