January window - go/stay, sign

Our first signing in January will give us a trio of Danish statues.

I don’t think you’re alone in that Glass, under Evatt and his mate Markham last summer we spent over Ā£3m on players like McAtee, Randall, Schon and a few others before that for good money who either are no longer with us or we wish weren’t. On the other hand our new pair of Schumacher and Harkin have brought in several excellent loans like ACD, Burstow and Forss and paid little for quality players like Thierry Gale Ā£100k, Xavier Simon’s from Hull for Ā£200k and best of all Cyrus Christie for zero. Dalby also free from Wrexham still has to prove himself but is now fully fit and starting to come into the picture.

It’s sad that you had to let so many of your good players go last year when you were so close to promotion and being my favourite from seeing you early in the season and replacing them with what have turned out to be lesser quality. I suppose it’s always a gamble but despite how many times Duff’s teams have (pardon the pun) duffed us up in the past, I really rate him and think he’ll do well fir you in January if he’s given the chance. I must admit that I couldn’t believe that you passed on the opportunity to sign Morley last season after he did so well for you but maybe this January?

Like I said, I believe if you can make a few good signings in January, with the leagtight there’s no reason you can’t quickly make the top six. Obviously I hope you don’t start this weekend but I wish you all the best afterwards, it would be great if two Wanderers went up.

At the minute the January window seems a long way off.

Only two weeks blue but I’d be amazed if talks for both of us weren’t already underway.

Couldn’t interest you in a Swiss striker could we? Well, I’m told he’s a striker, might actually be a life-size cardboard cutout.

Two for 1 deal.

Westy & Finky for Morley?

Would suit everyone.

Do be honest ,the cardboard cut out has more chance of scoring.

What a deal :+1::+1:

What is your score forecast for Saturday @Warranty ?

Ha, sadly not

Ha, sadly not I’m afraid we’ve got a few cardboard cut outs of our own to get rid of first. It’s strange really because although we’re scoring goals, very few are actually coming from the strikers, more from the wings but the frustrating thing is our strikers are still missing gilt edged chances so games are closer than they should be. The teams great at the moment but we’re just lacking a really good quality No10 and none of our players are close to it I’m afraid. We could do with Paris Maghoma back to run at defences through the middle whilst Gale and ACD do the same on the wings. Now that really would help.

I’d love a win obviously blue but I’d settle for a 1-1 draw. Our away records been awful but mainly because we’ve drawn games we should have won comfortably but for giving silly goals away (Exeter last Saturday!) and missing sitters. I suppose every team does it but we seem to be excelling. In fairness though we seem to be improving and have 2 wins and a draw in our last 3 away so maybe it’s changing. Another win this weekend would be bonzer but I think if we get a point I’d be happy enough with two what should be winnable home games following.

With a fully fit squad there should be no excuses for a slip up but what about you, what do you think the score will be and do you have any injury worries or like us have a full squad? I know Duff will have your guys really up for it so it should be a really good game and it’s a shame I can’t get there to see it.

We are missing players, three of which have been out for a while now - Scowen, Abbott and Allen. However, our biggest miss in recent weeks as been Henderson who is the midfield engine as far as I am concerned. Our mini dip started when Henderson got injured. I am not sure that Henderson will be back on Saturday and if he isn’t, that makes us pretty weak in midfield

I desperately want a win and would grudgingly settle for a draw but in reality I think Bolton will go away with all three points and a scoreline of 1-3.:cry::cry:

If we go a goal (or two) down I struggle to see where the impetus will come from to get back in the game. But I’m hoping to be proved very wrong. Sadly we also have a few ricks in us which has seen us gift far too many soft goals this season. It’s all been very stop-start…win and it’ll be ā€˜this is the moment things get back on track’, lose and we’re back into ā€˜not too good to go down’ territory. I’d settle for a draw!

Well I hope for us you’re right blue but 3 goals for us this season in a league game is a rare thing, results have mostly been by an odd goal and that’s what I’d expect on Saturday if we can sneak it. Sorry that you’re carrying injuries to key players but if it works in our favour I’d selfishly take it then hope you do better afterwards. I genuinely think this year we can finally make it to the Championship. We have a strong squad, hopefully improved again in January and with L1 not as strong this year it could work in our favour. Anyway let’s just hope it’s a good game this weekend and whoever it is, the best team on the day wins.

Nah, you’re much too good to go down Willi and whatever the result on Saturday the top 6 is in range for both of us.

As the 2026 January transfer window opens in exactly two weeks here’s the first rumour, complete with absurd transfer fee - Potential Wycombe Wanderers transfer target: Tobias Lauritsen

It lost me at ā€˜ESC slots’ and ā€˜GBE player’, with no explanation of what either of them mean.

ESC (Elite Significant Contribution) slots are a post-Brexit rule in English football allowing clubs to sign talented young players who don’t meet standard work permit (GBE) criteria, with the number of slots depending on English Qualified Player (EQP) minutes, giving Premier League/Championship clubs up to 4 and EFL League One/Two clubs up to 2 slots to develop future stars, turning them into full GBE players through playtime.

No more fancy overseas signings please!! Go get Morley, Smith, Cam Hum and make Bell a permanent signing.

At least this player has consistent playing statistics over a long period in the Dutch League which is a step or two higher than the Danish League. 113 games for Sparta over the last three years suggests he isn’t injury prone and 42 goals in 113 games is pretty consistent goalscoring. He certainly isn’t a Fink!

However, why would he come to a mid table League 1 side?
