Afraid not Pete, will be taking my granddaughter to her away game to Sheffield Utd girls so I’ll be listening on the radio when we get back. Should be a good game and I’d be satisfied with a point with two, what should be, winnable home games to follow? ![]()
i think we all know we see a different game live to on the tv, this may explain it.
so do i, does that warrant a contract ?
I have heard from a reliable source we have made contact, permanent move however.
I have everything crossed.
Or it might not. If you can’t see what they bring to the team that’s on you. Leahy probably the leading candidate for player of the season so far.
I dunno. Fred and Grimmer have shouts there as well.
I would argue that Leahy has been much better this season than in previous, but as someone else has also stated, the massive drop in quality to the squad is probably making him look better. Last year we had Scowen Morley Humphreys in and around him.
I don’t disagree but we are where we are
Flipping heck getting Cam back would be Morley levels of massive. I hope thats true
Agree. Leahy shines when someone like Josh is with him, leaving bodies all over the place and gives Luke those extra 5 yards
Is Kyle Dempsey not suitable for the No. 10 role in your view?
Any updated info on Amario Cozier-Duberry’s move to Sheffield United in January?
Kyle’s a good player but he’s not an out and out No10 and nor I’m afraid are Randall or McAtee so that’s a spot we need to fill. I’m sure Morley could fit it if he was just a bit more physical but again it’s just not in his make-up. As for Amario, there’s been no word from Brighton about moving him and I’d be amazed if they did the way he’s developing. He’s still only 19 and struggled last year at Blackburn so moving him to another Championship club where he might not get first team every week probably wouldn’t be the most sensible thing when he could be in a successful team here with a potential promotion on his CV. No, I’ve no worries about him going anywhere.
I also enquired about Morley as i can see he is down the pecking order at Bolton but unfortunately nothing is there. And was told the whisper that we placed a bid in the summer is wide of the mark.
Maybe time to move on then I’d say. Cam would be a cracking addition.
What would you say is Dempsey’s best position?
Never been convinced by John McAtee and don’t really understand why both Posh and you have played Joel Randall centrally when he made his name as a left-winger at Exeter City.
Aaron Morley’s best position is the six (quarterback / playmaker) for me.
If you’re to finish in the second automatic promotion place (behind Cardiff City) you’ll need to hang on to Amario Cozier-Duberry.
Oh I think Demps position is attacking midfield but he’s not an out and out box to box player which you need for that No10 role as he often drops too deep. I agree with you on AM but we have Sheehan in that role whos just keeping him out and Erhahon and Simons sitting back. He deserves first team football so you could maybe give him that better than us?
As for ACD, we obviously want to keep him but to be fair we’ve done well when he’s been rested and didn’t miss him that much. We’re lucky in that we’ve also got Thierry Gale down the left side and Osei-Tutu who can play on the right so even if he did go I’m not sure it would be a tragedy. We’re in no way a one man team but there’s no doubt he’s a strength for us so we’d like to keep him which I think we will.
What signings would you like to see for yourselves? You lost one or two in the summer but with the league so tight you could soon be up in the top 6 with a little run. I suppose losing Kone was the biggest blow and it’s tough to replace guys like that but at least you got a good fee so should be well positioned to strengthen?
my brain read that as crack addiction. Cam would be brilliant!
I think you probably have too many number sixes in your squad, which should bring some hope to those of a Chairboys persuasion who’d like to re-sign Aaron Morley permanently.
I’m not sure it really matters who we sign. We are currently being led (this is an oxymoron) by an incompetent, unqualified “interim” Chairman (Dan Rice) and our recruitment is being led (see before) by Tom Stockwell, who has the utterly unnecessarily grandiose job title of Director of Football Strategy & Data Intelligence.
Having spent a combined £2.5m on Mikki van Sas, Connor Taylor, Magnus Westergaard and Bradley Fink, I wouldn’t trust them to do my weekly online shop.
I’m not sure Michael Duff would either and once a third successive clusterfuck of a transfer window has concluded, I suspect he’ll realise it would be better for his managerial career / quality of life to get the fuck out of dodge.
Truly living up to your moniker there! I don’t wholly disagree. I think we need a Morley type and a goal threat for sure. Easier said than done, and wouldn’t trust us to get what’s required based on track record.
