January window - go/stay, sign

Totally with you @Quarterman :+1::+1:

My point still stands though if Duff doesn’t rate him or he doesn’t suit Duffs style, what would be the point of wasting a squad spot?

You don’t understand the ā€œobsessionā€ with wanting to bring in arguably the finest deep lying playmaker we’ve had in 20 years? A player who was one of our absolute key players in our best 6 month spell in our league history?

We don’t know if Duff rates him, we don’t know if Bolton would sell him. We don’t know if he’d want to uproot his young family to come back under a different manager.

But he’s a superb player - criminally misused / underused by Bolton.

And your idea he wouldn’t want to come here because of house pricing is baffling.

Nothing says he has to buy a mansion. I dare say a lot of players simply rent for a couple of years and on the wages we pay now, I don’t think he’ll need to be renting a bin in Green Street.

Grist for the mill.

I’m sure we could include this accommodation in any contract.

But, (and whilst I agree with you about his ability), why would he choose us (if he has a choice if others appreciate his skills)?

When he was playing so superbly for us a year ago he was playing for a manager who clearly believed in him but a director of football (or whatever DR actually is) who clearly didn’t.

Given that since December last year we have lost the former but not the latter on what planet do people think he would actually want to return (other than a hugely attractive carrot dangled in front of him)

That’s all part of the unknowns.

Does our manager want him, do our board?

Does Morley want to come?

Will he be as good this time round?

Most likely it’s only a few gasroomers who’d like to see it and there’s no conversation to be had.

For the avoidance of doubt I think he is one of the most perceptive footballers I’ve seen play for Wycombe (I’d put him on the bar with God - AKA Noel Ashford) and if by some miracle he did sign for us I will happily watch the rest of the season play out from my hospital bed (having broken my back attempting cartwheels at my age)

Think you need this mate

?? Morley on a par with Noel Ashford?? Surely shum mistake there. Doubt anyone will ever see fans wearing ā€˜Morley masks’ at a Wycombe away game

Fair challenge. I will blame the post-match Winter Royal for my descent into hyperbole.

I’m not sure that league 1 players are living in penthouse apartments in Mayfair, but they are certainly able to live like normal people.

For instance Sido lived in a flat at Wycombe marsh while playing for us and I know a young professional playing for Luton who has just moved into a rented flat in St Albans.

My point is if Morley wanted to play for Wycombe he’d earn enough to rent or buy a property just like any other 20something would.

One thing though @Twizz, our current players are on far more than the Sido days and are able to rent a real nice home in one of the local areas with ease.

A random post on twitter says we’re signing a player from Motherwell.

Seems legit.

Can you upload it for us @kim_il_swan please?

It’s Elliot Watt, from the same source (The Quarterman), albeit from one of the most unreliable writers you could hope to find.

Do you with with him playing?

I’d loan our Fink, Tilley and Back. All need minutes.

Ideally bring in a striker. A lot obviously depends on Bell and Woodrow.

I also think we could let Huggins and McNeilly return to their parent clubs.
