This Jan window is so important, we find out how serious we are with trying to achieve our ambition (whether this season or not) and whether the leadership team will actually trust his with transfers and hopefully moves away the negative tactics
Euros i thought
Why. Havenât. We. Signed. Anyone. Yet?
Because he does not suit the way we want/try to play. He can play but he is far too slow at doing it.
Sold Kone for basically the same figure as that lot though. So basically cost neutral!
Just doesnât feel it when at one point Kone was billed as double the price and also so hard to view those fees versus their outputs.
On this day two years ago we signed Richard Kone.
It was announced on this day two years ago of the intention to sign but not formally confirmed until January 5th.
And they call me pedantic (among other things).
Happy New Year everyone. Perhaps.
I could be wrong here but donât think loan players can be recalled until January 2nd.
Well thatâs a disaster
Having read the EFL rules again, my interpretation is there is no chance of any players returning from loans today either way nor can we complete any permanent transfers. This is because EFL administrators do not work on a Bank Holiday and therefore it is impossible to complete paperwork.
Bristol City could well have requested to end the loan of Sam Bell but that request wonât even be looked at until tomorrow morning.
However can see a few deals bubbling so maybe EFL administrators are working today - a change from previous years.
Been confirmed.
Bell recall confirmed.
Well 2026 can do one.
Exactly, he could have been recalled but he will be available for us today, as was Morley and Taylor who both played on Jan 1st before going back to Bolton and WBA last season.
Bristol City have quite the injury list and look like they might lose Anis in the next few weeks.
The wording of the statement does not suggest to me that heâll be available to us today.
