January window - go/stay, sign

What about Tom Lockyer? He has been released by Luton and he’s got plenty of experience. I don’t know if his health issues from the past might be a point that noone wants to take on?

Did anyone see that we had a Trailist playing yesterday in Midfield?

Tom Lockyer is training with his former club Bristol Rovers. I anticipate they’ll announce his signing if he’s able to prove his fitness.

I can only imagine the anxiety his family will be feeling if he decides to carry on his playing career

I would be uneasy about signing him

Casey hasn’t played as much as Taylor yet.

Give him a chance to get the error count up!

That one last game that saw him hooked at half time is surely up there with Taylor managing to get robbed on the edge of his own box earlier in the season.

I would back Declan Skura against either Casey or Taylor but I have difficulty in arguing that he is even close to meeting @glasshalfempty’s criteria. And thereby hangs the tale.

Get rid of all the young players with potential so years in the future we can watch them at another clubs and say we let them go for a song because the club was short sighted and wanted immediate success. Then get some proven experienced players in to ensure the promotion back to the Champ where we belong.

I am available as a consultant.

Exactly.Mullins for example has real potential imo.He still a very young man with lots to learn but he has real technical ability and probably just needs time to learn the other areas of the game and to get physically stronger.

We’re hitting 1.6 points a game under Duff and he’ll have even more impact with more time. No changes required

A bloated squad that needs a mass clearout.

The first man I’d love to see is that smug, incompetent corporate stooge Rice but I doubt it will happen.

I hope you’ve got all that recorded in a spreadsheet?

Changes can’t be made until January 2026, and by then that PPG might’ve changed.

It’s all up there for thinking, down there for dancing.

Great list. What about Elliott Moore? Contract cancelled at Oxford and I haven’t seen him pop up anywhere else yet.

Elliott Moore has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia. Pro League club Al-Kholood are managed by former Oxford United boss Des Buckingham.

Id ship Taylor, Rice and all his crap scouting network off to a remote island in the north sea.

I think what is more important is can we trust Rice and the recruitment team to get it right in January after a disastrous summer and winter recruitment drive.

At least they seem to have got the new manager appointment spot on.

Would this one do?

Was Taylor not meant to be the big nasty lampost.

Many of these suggestions feel more like wishful thinking than realistic possibilities.

  • Berry: Why would we bring him back only to loan him out again? That makes little strategic sense.

  • Tilley: As far as we know, he’s still sidelined after the Wigan cup injury—there’s no indication he’s leaving.

  • Goalkeepers: I don’t anticipate any changes here other than Van Sass reclaiming the #1 spot.

  • Younger players: If anyone moves, it might be fringe names like Matton, Peart, Bartolo, Cole—and maybe, finally, Skura.

  • Stuart Moore: He was signed as a third or fourth-choice keeper. He’s built a career around being a reliable squad option without demanding minutes. We’re not suddenly offloading him.

  • Central midfielders: None are likely to leave. Most are getting regular minutes—even Westergaard.
Forward: Woodrow going back - feasible now not starting. Fink isn’t going anywhere, and neither are the Danes.

think you’re mistaking Luke Berry for James Berry
