January window - go/stay, sign

Our friend’s son who is 5 and in his first season as a season ticket holder loves Fred. After he scored the young fella bounced up and down both fists pumping the air for a good 30 seconds.

He’s probably still scarred after being criticised for smiling during the Championship season - how dare he!

I think its just his demeanour

There are those who have never forgiven Mehmeti for not beaming through his first dozen or so appearances.

good lord, those who are upset with Fred for not being perky enough can’t have seen Tommy Doherty play.

I dunno, whilst I can appreciate when someone really engages well with fans (Bayo being the classic), I just feel like not all personalities are wired that way, and I’m far more bothered with what they do on the pitch.

So I think it’s a legit concern to be less than enthused with Fred when he goes missing in games - which certainly happens - but the part about not being chipper enough, not so much.

This could lead to a ‘Wanderers most miserable player’ thread.

I will start with late 70’s and 80’s winger Steve Long, he used to really huff and puff and put his hands on his waist, if he didn’t get put through or receive the right pass.

Thinking about it I can’t remember any of the 70s players ever looking like they actually enjoyed playing.

Although the obligatory moustache probably didn’t help.

Dan Harvie has literally never smiled whilst wearing a Wycombe shirt. He even scowls when he scores.

I wouldn’t say miserable but Martin Blackler knew how to scowl at an opponent if they misbehaved. You didn’t mess with Martin. Him playing with the Doc would have been something.

Steve Long is one of my all time favourites, I loved to see him speeding down the wing. His shirt was too baggy, and the sleeves too long and, yes @borgoff, he could have a moan.

You are right @bookertease, I don’t remember many smiles from the 70s players, the late, great Mickey Holifield in particular, Bodger as well. It all seemed very serious, but then Brian Lee was a serious manager.

Edit - just remembered another scowler - Andy Graham.

Aaron Amadi-Holloway never even celebrated his goals. Always seemed miserable

He was always one player I never understood. He had the power and knowledge to play as a good target man striker but also as a make-shift CB if needed. However, he never seemed to apply himself or show any type of commitment. As soon as he lost his place in a squad, he lost all interest and wanted to leave

Playing for Chippenham Town now although currently recovering from a long term injury.

Possible capture ??

Wycombe born and bred, members of his family long term Wanderers season ticket holders ?

I have a friend who knows him and I can categorically confirm…

I know nothing

Shared a student flat with his aunt. Leave it with me.

I shared the showers with his Uncle for many years, playing alongside him in the local leagues.

He is known to spill the beans for a pie and a pint.

Is he any good?

The Uncle?

Contrary to many I’ve read, not sure there’s an issue with the GK position. The berry experiment is probably done, not sure about the Fink experiment but needs games of some sort. Huggins probably was only here for dopey Dodds and now he’s gone he probably doesn’t fancy being so far from home. Not convinced by bell, like Woodrow and he’s in better form than anyone else in that position. Keep Anders definitely but Magnus is done I think. I’m convinced Tilley has done something and it might be tinfoil hat stuff but I’m sure he was blurred/out of focus on YouTube short about shirt swap🤷🏻‍♂️

Tommy quality player and was nice to me when we acknowledged each other.
