January window - go/stay, sign

I said before in another thread that he was getting on a train to London from Wycombe in his club clothes at 16.50 whilst Wycombe where still playing Huddersfield. Not much commitment if he can leave before the end of the game

If I’ve been told I can leave work early I’d leave early

How is Huggins unproven apart from injuries all his games to date are LG1 and above.

Not when those sorts of actions can cause so much reputational damage if publicised online, particularly in a niche industry where reputation is extremely important. He’s obviously a bit of an idiot if he is doing stuff like that, especially so when he’s frozen out of our match day squad every league game despite being fit and healthy. Likely to be a bad egg.

The Kaspi Empire is crumbling like the digestive biscuit dunked in my tea!

Don’t overdo the Mississippi’s!

Looking through, I think we had 28 players on the books capable of being in the Match Day Squad as Senior players. I’ve left Stones, Shala, Gregory (on loan anyway) etc out of this calculation.

23 players were Wycombe’s and 5 were on loan.

5 of those are currently not with us but only one of them is now ours: Shamal George. Other four are Westergaard, McNeilly, Bell, Abbott.

That leaves 23 players, three of which are keepers - Norris, Van Sas and Moore.

Duff was quoted as saying the squad is too big but he also wants to sign three players this window.

I think 21-22 players in total is about right for next 4 months. If Duff wants a smaller squad and three new players then I am expecting another 5-6 to leave either permanently or on loan.

I would be choosing 5 or 6 from the following pool for those going out of the club:

Tilley, Skura, Back, Lowry, Van Sas, Taylor, Quitirna, Huggins

Caveats:

Injuries to Henderson, Grimmer and Scowen may mean we want more than 21/22 players for Feb to May, as that leaves us with 19 fit players and may mean a stay of execution for some.

Whether they wish to leave and/or another club is willing to take them.

I don’t mind when we do our business in the window but we should not panic buy now for the sake of it, it is unlikely we go down this season, as it stands. So we can be patient.

he has played circa 20 matches in 5 years….hardly proven

genuinely dont think the club are backing Duff, i fear he will be off soon….

Why would you ā€˜fear’ Duff will be off soon? You don’t rate him do you?

Just reading the Westergaard stuff. Interesting that some people dismiss it completely when to my mind he makes a lot of points that are difficult to argue against. Of course an element of bias to account for but still a somewhat reliable ITK unlike many other rumours thrown around.

He never got the run of minutes and it’s impossible for anyone here to judge him fairly because of that. He was also part of a team/squad that has been average at best amidst a lot of change/volatility. Overall a shame it didn’t work out for all involved.

Biggest takeaway is calling out the fans for lack of support and general ā€œtoxicityā€, just to be proved right with the abuse that comes in response. We have been blessed with a club that outperforms and provides joy for so long and in the first sign of difficulty people start to throw unnecessary insults and anger in all directions. The team has undoubtedly lacked support at times too. Here’s to a brighter 2026!

he is a good manager just wished he was braver hopefully with his own players (if club backed him) he would change that

Interesting comment in here: Wycombe Wanderers winger James Tilley could join AFC Wimbledon | Bucks Free Press

ā€œThe Free Press understands that Wycombe are looking to offload players before bringing in recruits.ā€

Is our January transfer business dependent on sales?

how we have fallen ….shows the club has been run like a shambles

Real fans like chairboys80 are hard to find. If we lose the likes of him because every manager we appoint and every player we sign is crap… the club is doomed.

I hope Lommy can do something…

Not sure many dismissed it completely. Most of the comments I saw were saying he makes some fair points, mixed in with less fair points.

Suggesting his son was captured at Mbappe pace, adding clips on fb of his quality moments (standard chasing after the ball, couple of nice passes etc) and not really for a second thinking anything could be down to the player himself didn’t come across well.

Moaning about ā€œthreeā€ different coaches not giving him a chance (one of them being Gracey, a 3-4 game interim!), but not addressing the very obvious elephant in the room that he’s obviously not stood out as deserving a place in the team either from training performance or actually occasionally looking good in games.

Silly stuff about long ball football too. Needs to go and watch Wimbledon of old to see long ball football.

He is proven he cant help having been injured.

Well if he’s read any of the posts that you’ve written about him, can you blame him?

Maybe I am just old fashioned but I normally support the players in the squad of the team I support. Celebrating a rumour about a player being moved out isn’t in my make up.

I think Tilley has done ok when I’ve seen him but he is behind better players in the depth chart.

I think this proves that Duff is being listened to and has a say in the transfers. We’ve heard a number of times that we have too many here and it seems silly to add before we can move any on. It seems like the penny has dropped
