This is the Combined Counties League Division One Challenge Cup final against Hillingdon Borough. It will be Borough’s last ever game in their current incarnation, although the name remains in possession of the Chair Dee Dhand.
If you are going to the Spurs game, there is time to get to Burnham afterwards.
The FA Men’s allocations for steps 1-6 have been released today, here are the ones for our local(ish) clubs. No surprises, as far as I can see. In Combined Counties, Amersham Town have been given a reprieve but not Chalfont St Peter - it’s not clear where they will be playing.
Elsewhere, I note that should Guernsey win their promotion play-off with Peacehaven & Telscombe, they will be placed in Isthmian South East but Jersey will be in Isthmian South Central, both step 4. Crazy, unless I am missing something.
I think it is linked to the availability of flights from Gatwick for Guernsey. Most teams fly out on the Friday night flight from Gatwick and return on the 18.10 after the game. Guernsey have dispensation to play at 1.30 or 2pm on Saturdays, meaning opponents can get the 18.10 home. Isthmian South East is much easier for Gatwick than Isthmian South Central.
I suspect the Jersey flights are much better for Heathrow for the same reason and all but 5 of the South Central teams are within 45-60 mins of Heathrow.
It also makes sense keeping them seperate for the reasons @DevC has already mentioned.
When I was an offical at that level, the FA wrote to all officials highlighting that if you were appointed to a Channel Islands match, you would have to park at a certain car park, fly out with the away team from Gatwick at 7am and you would depart at 7pm coming back. I was never appointed there but sounds like a long arse day and could be very awkward if the ref was card happy
Possible 12 if you count reformed clubs, but you have to be generous with a couple to count them. Chester, Darlington, Hereford, Macclesfield, Merthyr Town, Morecambe, Scarborough, Southport, South Shields, Dagenham, Maidstone, Torquay.
