1-2 loss
Vidi for the goal. Always looks to attack as well.
Lovely day at the beach for the players.
Tough one to pick as the usually dependable performers had bad days at the office & the regular mistake makers did their usual.
I have gone for Vidigal as he scored a cracker & kept trying to make things happen down the left until injured.
I thought Connor Taylor was excellent. Won lots of headers, comfortable on the ball and on a couple of occasions carried the ball out to break the line. His best game for us in my opinion.
Morley by country mile for me. Surprised there’s only one other voter for him so far. Wasn’t even close
I’m not qualified to vote. I felt so dispirited by the capitulation at the start of the second half that I couldn’t bear to watch. Like the team, but literally in my case, I switched off. It was horrible and in eighty years of following Maidstone United (1946 until 1956), Wealdstone (1959 until 1967) and Wycombe since 1968 I cannot recall a situation when six or seven first team players were all injured or otherwise unavailable at such a critical stage of the season. Worries about whether we would have a goalkeeper at Wembley for that match (? against Southend) pale into insignificance.
Connor Taylor has exceeded expectations since the Bolton debacle - not that they were very high - but his comfort on the ball is hardly remarkable because, let’s face it, he is usually unchallenged as he moves slowly forward through our defensive third, exchanging passes under little or no pressure with Norris and fellow defenders.
Very poor second half by his standards. Probably cost him some votes.
I thought everyone looked slow, ponderous and not ‘up for it’ 2nd half after going for it in the 1st half
Even when he was deep in his own defensive third. Which was a worry at times.
I thought Boyd Munce was excellent in the first half so he gets it for me.
We were much worse in the second half without him.
Attack is the best form of defence and all that.
But, i don’t think Duff likes him, abd I dobt see a chance he keeps him. ( ignoring woukd like to see him stay, he clearly has quality, his two goals show that.
See… I’m interested by your opinion. I thought he was anonymous for much of the game. I genuinely was sat there wondering when Morely will start Morleying again.
I agree thought he never really got into the game - not up to his usual standards as we’re quite a few today. Some of our better players looked a little off the pace today
Anonymous? No offence, but I have to assume you weren’t watching. He had the most touches on the pitch (88), most passes into final third (20) on the pitch and completed the 63/74 passes (85%) - also the most on the pitch. Additionally, two chances created, one big chance, six recoveries.
I thought he was super. By a mile MOTM.
While I think Morley was fine, he didnt stand out to me.
But, and ive said it before, and still think it. He is hampered by the loss of the centre backs. With Dan and Anders being so confident, they could link with Morley and CBM or Henderson. It creates space for the midfielders.
We bypass the defenders a bit more, as they arent as confident.
I may be over seeing things though.
I can’t argue with facts if that’s all correct can I?!!
I was in attendance and watching throughout.
He just didn’t catch my eye as a player standing out today. Maybe I look for different things than you? Maybe I was blind… . . Who knows
True, we aren’t under massive pressure on the ball inside our third. Although I think that’s because we’re actually pretty good at playing through teams and they’re now less likely to press our centre backs as a result.
I went for Morley. Not one of his best games, but he was always available and did produce moments of quality
