Match day thread: Bradford 6th April 2026 (H)

Since his first two cameo performances I haven’t seen anything from Lowe that makes him any better than Fink. I know the normal people will argue with what I am saying but why not give Fink the last 4 games to prove it one way or another. And Van Sas too while we are at it.

Kind of agree especially if both Fink and Van SaS are contracted for next season

agreed , however I feel with Duff he is stubborn and will not play them, I want an open minded coach where not afraid to be proved wrong , Because Duff played in the prem he thinks he knows better, I would love to see Lowry , Fink, MVS given a proper chance like Duff has given his chummies (Lowe, Norris, Harris ect). bring back Dodds!!!

Plus absolutely blowing a superb chance of promotion with a superb team.

I was just about to log out - but I’ve decided to get some popcorn and wait for the responses to your wind up !!

Thought we played reasonably well but we keep failing in the ugly side of the game.

Watching today reminded me that after the opening game away at Bradford I thought we’d have an interesting season with lots of goals and attractive football, but that we would be bullied out my more physical sides. That’s what happened today and has been a constant all season.

I’m fairly happy overall with the way the season has gone in the end. We’ve got an excellent midfield, good starting back 4 and some decent attacking talent out wide. We need to sign a centre forward and recruit for some more aggression across the squad next season. I’m confident we can be right up there if we get that right.

I’m not sure he was ever a “legs” sort of player in fairness.

I’ve always thought he showed his best form for us in defence.

A corporate ownership that has spunked over £700K on agents fees was definitely something not available in the bad old days..

I don’t deal with this spoofer anymore, but assume he’s probably posted some abuse about the manager, possibly suggested a player who is either wildly out of form or very obviously levels below what is needed hasn’t had a chance, whilst slating one or more of our best players?

We probably need a quality player in at least 3 of the 4 central zones across the pitch.

Every team in the league could be competitive if they did similar.

I personally think we should keep Norris and Woodrow at all costs. Both of them have the highest levels of footballing IQ I have seen in a long time.

It’s April 6th pal, you’re 5 and a half days late.

Sort of plus he can do better than Duff in choosing the players and wants Dodds to come back, I think he may had a few too many shandy’s this evening !

The thing is, I’m not even joking. Norris commands well and Woodrow is an effective team player. Not sure why some people do not see it and I can see why Duff hasn’t replaced either of them. We need more brains like that in the team.

New keeper, CB, Winger, Striker and a couple of generals within that and we won’t be a million miles away.

Textbook twaddle really.

Norris cannot be part of it next year.

Woodrow has a chance but I’d probably say we need to look elsewhere. An out and out striker and more of an attacking mid behind.

Though I’m sure early on Duff said you “need” to play two strikers in league 1 and unless I’m missing it, don’t think we often do.

I still do not understand why people thoroughly dislike Norris when he is a good keeper with a good footballing IQ. If you were sitting at the top of the Frank Adams stand would you be concerned if you could not hear him? I can and that is something I like about him. Do you also think it is fair if he would not like the fans because of a lot of abuse he has faced?

With your point on Woodrow I think some people miss out on the idea of what the players are asked to do by the coaching staff. Woodrow drops in deep when up front and creates well and has a good pass on him when he is behind the striker. For all we know maybe that is how the staff want the striker to play? If so then the question of the type of player that is needed in that position is answered with Woodrow. I also disagree about needing another attacking mid. I think Henderson fits very well there and with Mullins also able to play there you have got two very good options to rotate etc. Lowry is also there too albeit I am unsure with why he is not playing.

Norris makes some good saves but a lot of howlers. Added to this, some think he has a certain demeanour like he doesn’t want to be here particularly.

If he’s out of contract, it’s a certain release. If he has another year I expect we’ll stay with him.

Woodrow is on loan so no obligation either way. We’ll ask what else is available.

Weve been playing Woodrow and Lowe, and its not really worked. You take away the midfield.

To get 2 up front and not effect tge midfield, its a 352 formation.

Which is what Duff wanted initially.
