If we had performed like that in the league, things work out differently.
I think Charlton are a better team though.

Also if anyone can explain to me what that sub with Magnus was about I’d appreciate it, seems absolutely bizarre bringing him on with 30 seconds left..
Would have taken that prior to KO. Looked a little tighter at the back and the intensity was great.
Still lacking any attacking effectiveness but today was likely always going to be cagey, even if we were on form.
Surprised we didn’t take the opportunity to bring on Sads and give him 20 mins to take on their back line, as much as I love GMac I think Sads would have challenged their wing backs more.
All on Thursday now, which is going to be a difficult wait!
Xavier was cramping up. I think Dodds wanted 11 players who could move… even if for final 30 secs
The Poppies are on Patrol!
Simply magnificent tonight! I know we didn’t score but we matched them everywhere.
Best performance since Xmas!
can confirm that’s not how xG works
I’m pretty much with the consensus here, I will take that and we fought for everything, plenty of blood and thunder etc.
But I don’t think we can play like that over two legs and expect to win. Sure, one of our set pieces might come off, but that’s far from a given.
With the amount of football that we were playing (i.e. very little) I would have honestly taken Kone off for the last 10 mins, brought Low on and switched Taylor up front. If we are going to play hoofball (and wow, did we) then why not bring on someone who is both decent with their feet plus a major aerial presence?
That was a lot better than I expected. I would have liked to see Sadlier on and Danny U move to the centre replacing Kone early on in the second half but we have a chance.
Think that was an excellent solid display, much better than recent games. The whole team fought and pressured. One big tactical change was playing Taylor on the right, Grimmer as a right back and taking the defensive resposibility from Fred who then had a good offensive game. Pressure is now on Charlton to perform at home, not sure they can do it.
The second better than the first. The first was one for the cameras I think, as he was making up for a slight error in positioning so had to make the dive.
Good effort from Godden though - who is a real nuisance up front.
Genuinely gobsmacked by this analysis. I thought Grimmer was outstanding. Did you miss the number of times he nutmegged or skinned his man? And how often that led to us getting the ball in the box?
Im not sure how else we play Charlton. Obviously they beat us when we were playing well, they beat us when we werent. And today we ground it out. We dont have any pace wide or full back. Our centre forward cant hold a ball up anymore.
Its going to be another battle, but, likely we lose.
Next season, i wouldnt expect more than 2 of that lineup to play, which is interesting.
Norris will remain, then its a toss up with Kone or Udoh.
Moaning about being in the playoffs
Celebrating 0-0 at home
This is the oddest season I have ever seen
I think Lee Bowyer is stoned out of his gourd.
Yellow Cards Against Humanity
incredibly impressive response that from Wycombe’s players and staff. Clearly a hard few weeks, up against the best League One team of 2025, having just lost 4-0 to them, yet dealt with everything
always respect the views of people who watch 2-5 League One games per season (all in May)
Fair analysis this. No wonder you are one of the best in the world.
