Maybe set an alarm for an hour’s time?
To protect capitalism.
Now this is what I would really call irony-BBC report from Huddersfield v Luton playoff semi 3 years ago:
Luton Town boss Nathan Jones has criticised the “disgraceful” behaviour of Huddersfield Town fans in the wake of their Championship play-off victory over his team. The fans were an absolute disgrace,” he said after the game. “The stewards - I don’t know why they turned up. They had won the game - go and celebrate with the players, go and celebrate something wonderful. Instead they were more concerned with doing obscene gestures," he said.
Part of me wishes we’d had Gaz & Dobbo driving the team on… then I remembered the Sunderland final.
We had some big players missing, like Mehmeti. And it was just Sunderland’s day, they overwhelmed the whole occasion. As disappointing as it was, I took it far better than the Southend final defeat.
Who knows what might’ve happened last night with a fully fit Harvie and Scowen. Would’ve added something for sure.
The Sunderland final was the only time you could say an Ainsworth team looked overwhelmed the occasion.
I’m going to disagree with this one. Actual scrapping is worse than pretending you want to scrap.
Don’t tell @Chairboys80 !!
haha clueless , he was pony once again…we need to move on from him, simply not good eenough
I’m sure there were some club employees in the away end last night who would have been caught amongst the awful scenes with the pyros being launched into the crowd. Hopefully a complaint has been lodged and there is an investigation into the inaction of the police and Charlton stewards.
Might be worth emailing Ryan Isaac in his role as Supporter Liaison Officer, unless anyone knows of a better contact.
Can’t believe no-one thought to tell the cops the Charlton fans had offended with an online post. They would have all been arrested on the spot!
@kim_il_swan , v good, although to be pedantic Snap Crackle and Pop were the characters for Rice Crispies rather than its sugar coated sibling Ricicles.
I know, but it was an easy joke and God knows this place needs more humour at the moment.
Absolutely right. And I particularly enjoy your sideways look at our circumstance, which often puts fandom into perspective. Enjoy the break. We go again next season.
Never missed “thumbs down” so much.
Plenty of short term thinkers chucking toys, etc. I’m holding faith with the ownership that their greater good is for WWFC to play at their highest achievable level, which is our goal also.
Sad to end the season on a downer (not promoted no less) but not convinced we would have held our own in the Championship anyway, (used as a bandaid).
I’m still smarting from a disappointing loss while proud of the lads effort and endeavour; had we scored our chances we would be singing praises and booking tickets instead of calling for wholesale cleanouts or the Spanish Inquisition.
We will be in the running next season with plenty of wins, I’m sure. I was there for the Championship season and it was tough. It would continue the negativity and calls for change exponentially.
Staying in the third tier may be a blessing in disguise (recognizing the ænesthetic effect) and we have the chance to build a promotion winning team that will cut it in the Championship.
So all in all: disappointed but realistic about the long term plan for WWFC, positive for the future, onwards and upwards.
Up the Wyc
If that actually was their goal they wouldn’t have forced out the manager that took us to the top of the table.
If that isn’t their aim, why would they put out a statement today confirming that it is indeed their aim…?
Because they’re incompetent liars, obviously.
And replaced him with a totally incompetent coach.
