Sorry it’s not a jpeg. I get the following message:
It is a minute long iPhone video.
Thought we were pretty good last night and controlled a lot of the game. The passing was improved, although where some of the players were playing was a bit odd but I don’t think it negatively impacted us as it has done in other games.
It was a game of if’s and but’s - if only we had put away one of those two chances in the same move. I felt Franco was worried about giving a penalty away in real time, and having not seen a replay, am wondering if that’s what caused his hesitation.
Franco’s distribution was very good last night, pinpoint for most of the evening but Charlton defence were just so much better in the air. I don’t think I’ve seen a side dominate against us so much in the air over two games.
Would happily see Charlton promoted, as I think it makes the league easier next season. Orient have been brilliant but I don;t think they would be as strong in LG1 next season as Charlton would be.
The Play Off matches have helped me turn a corner, I felt a bit of hope, excitement and passion for WWFC return after a few months of anger and frustration.
Been a lot of stick given to the idiots from last night and a lot of credit given to your fans that went with plenty of posts like these:
"Not the greatest game but strangely enjoyed it nonetheless.
Atmosphere was unbelievable and when we scored, I thought the roof was going to come off.
I’m trying to show some humility here and I’ll probably get caned for this, but what I will say from my vantage point in lower AC (not my usual seat) is that the Wycombe fans were excellent in terms of their singing and getting behind their team pretty much throughout and that they certainly played their part in ‘adding’ to the atmosphere. That’s what you want in a game of football and whilst you’re not going to get it at every game, my God, it makes nights like that all the more special. One I won’t forget in a long time."
Totally agree Wycombe support was outstanding, constant noise from start to finish. One of the best away supports iv seen at the valley. Yes, for them this was a real “one off” , where as for us we get the occasional big game. They certainly played their part in generating the atmosphere, and stayed to very death.
“Shame, we have such complete Dickheads who felt the need to jump up and down in front of them, and throw things in their section. Lads, it wasn’t big and it wasn’t clever, no it didn’t make you look hard…. It made you look pathetic little wankers…. I look forward to the same individuals giving it some down the Den next season. In fact I will look after your coats, as you go for it……..”
I’m sure it’s no consolation for a lot of you but just letting you know how the majority feel and we think you are a decent club.
Even without Birmingham, Wrexham and Charlton L1 could be much more difficult next season.
I doubt Peterborough, Huddersfield, Barnsley and Rotherham will be as poor again next year. Cardiff and Luton look well placed to go straight back up, and Bradford’s momentum could carry them into playoff contention next season too. I expect a Couhig assisted Reading to be up there too.
Which teams from this season would you argue are bigger than Birmingham, Wrexham and Charlton currently? Bolton maybe but none of the others really.
Cardiff are in dire straights with their Chairman and whilst I expect them to be up there, I think they’d still be weaker than the three that have gone up.
I’d expect Luton and Plymouth to be fairly strong but I don’t see them doing a Birmingham.
I don’t see the L2 promoted clubs posing the same threat that Wrexham and Stockport did this season.
I do agree that it would be unusual for Peterborough and Rotherham to have another mediocre season. Huddersfield and Barnsley had pockets of excellence this season but fell away, much like ourselves over Xmas.
Reading could be the ones to watch out for.
If I had to hazard a guess now, this would be my Top 8:
Bolton
Luton
Stockport
Reading
Plymouth
Barnsley
Peterborough
Cardiff
Could try this icon? Don’t know if there’s a limit. When you tap it it should offer to upload from your iPhone library.
I don’t think any of the teams i mentioned are ‘bigger,’ although i’m sure their fans would argue that point. I’m saying even though we’ve lost two juggernauts the league could well be stronger overall.
My prediction would be Luton and Huddersfield automatics, with Cardiff, Bolton, Reading and Blackpool (or Charlton if they lose play off final).
Cheers @CAFC, we know not to tar all with the same brush but it was a sad end to a sad night for us. Appreciate the sentiments from the majority of your fans.
If I were to be a little pedantic, I’ve seen a few comments from Charlton fans about it being ‘the night of our lives’, ‘one-off’ etc. We’ve had two L1 play off finals in recent years, an EFL Trophy final, been to national cup semi-finals…we are small but we’ve packed a lot into the last 30 years, more than most, if not all, clubs promoted from non-league. As I say, nothing to detract from your message. I’d personally rather you went up to avoid another big fish in a small pond next season.
Hey @Lloyd2084 - This site is excellent for throwing a video onto… https://streamable.com - it’ll transcode it and give you a shareable link.
Just testing if this one still works.
I’d completely forgotten about Blackpool.
Thanks @ArnosGrove and @OxfordBlue
It got a bit further this time but failed again. Perhaps the file is too big.
Anyhow I used Streamable as suggested. I tried to sign up but got banned straight away for apparently violating their terms. I only got to the sign in screen!
Remember this was after the initial barage and rush, my mate just wanted to get pictures of the ne’erdowells so it’s after the event mainly.
I did speak to Emma Reynolds about this today whilst talking to her on another matter. She was very happy to take the lack of action up with the Met.
Not a hard man amongst them. Blokes who jump about waving their arms when there are dozens of police and stewards there and zero chance of any contact are the worst sort of blokes
Embarrassing. Not all kids either.
Remind me what the point of the police is?
Tried to thumb you @eric_plant but my relentless positivity apparently has limits.
Another totally pointless Discourse feature unearthed! Like away to your heart’s content.
snap, crackle and flop
So you were sat about three rows behind me and five seats to my right, I’m just out of sight as you pan left when JG comes into view.
The funniest part was the scummy c**nts filming us on their phones. It’s nice to see they needed a momento to remember what true supporters look like.
