Saturday was so disheartening. Seeing our frailties laid bare in such an important game. To be honest I’m struggling to get up for this one, but I’ve got my lucky socks on and I’m sure by 1.45 cst I’ll be ready to go.

I have zero expectations on this. Midweek away games to places miles away just scream disappointment.

I wonder if Lowe or Scowen will be in the matchday squad today?

Good job you’re not doing the pre match briefing, Ben !

I’ve no doubts whatsoever about the motivation and commitment of our steadily improving squad. My main concern is the forecast of heavy rain this evening on a pitch that has no doubt already had quite a soaking in recent weeks. Playing slick passing football on a borderline waterlogged surface wouldn’t be easy. Let’s hope the drainage has coped well until now and, not for the first time, the Met Office has got it wrong.

Life is first boredom, then fear.
Whether or not we use it, it goes,
And leaves what something hidden from us chose,
And age, and then the only end of age.

Quite the little philosopher. Hope MB doesn’t read that.

In the words of the great, Sophie Ellis Bextor. A pessismist is never disappointed.

Mainly though, its just do we ever do well away at Exeter?

The team is more than capable though.

I’ve randomly made the trip down with my daughter for a day out.

One to tick off the list as somehow I’ve managed not to go there during our travels.

Good news everyone. I’m going.

I’ve been to four away games this season:

Leyton Orient

Bromley

Wigan

Northampton

So 3 points is guaranteed!

A game for agricultural defending. Win your headers and the second ball. Play from there. A goal would be nice.

12/2024 D2-2
12/2024 L0-4 (F.A. Cup)

Also worth noting that we have yet to suffer back-to-back league defeats under Michael Duff.

I also have not seen us lose at Exeter…

Sadly, my tried and trusted weather app seems to confirm the BBC’s pessimism.

I actually found Saturday quite heartening.

The defensive frailties we showed weren’t great, but not atypical for us and unfortunately they were punished clinically - which doesn’t usually happen so dramatically at this level.

Obviously the result wasnt what we wanted, but I found an awful lot to be optimistic about in how we played.

Unfortunately, it’s Exeter away on a cold Tuesday night tonight and we all know exactly how this will play out. Hats off to those travelling down today. That is real commitment (or insanity)

Good job I don’t think like that - midweek away games miles distant are the only midweek games I can get to! Fond recent memories of Stockport, Rotherham, Huddersfield to name but a few. COYB

Like @bookertease I saw a number of defensive errors that let them in, but overall we were the better team and controlled much of the match playing good quality football. The defensive errors have, however, been occurring too frequently for us to realistically expect to do better than flirt with the top 10 this season. looking forward we need to minimise these if we want to progress.

Wonder if we get a Henderson and Morley midfield. Im still unsure in it, but would like to see it.
