Match Day Thread : Leyton Orient

Chairboys80 did you stop watching under Bloomfield. I watch my team no matter how bad we are. I am a proud Wycombe fan through the good and bad.

It seemed pretty clear from where I was sitting.

take ups and down but a manager who does not learn by his mistakes is not.accpetbale , sunday league managers have better game management than him, get Vokesy amd Sam in charge for play offs …Dodds.does not have a clue

The only plus thing is we now can’t play Stockport in play-off semis (unless Charlton win 7-0 next week). Which means no long journey or memories of a hideous previous play-off semi-final defeat. It’ll either be Charlton, Orient or Reading in the semis.

Sorry to hear that - hope you get well soon

Bloomfield last season threw many games away from winning positions by bringing on an extra defender. Dodds has had 4 months, give the bloke a chance it took Bloomfield 18 months to get it right,

Fair enough! As I said, I get the disappointment, but no one deserves to be booed, they are doing their best and we need to support them.

We all need to clear our heads and get behind them for the play-offs. Whatever happens the trajectory for this football club is up!!

I’d rather be 5th and play at home first I think.

There’s a chance of a really ugly finish if we’re at home in a second leg after a thumping in the first game.

Well, the misery of seeing that in the flesh was somewhat tempered by hearing a considerable portion of the crowd singing that pathetic anti-Bloomfield song only to be whingeing about Dodds being out of his depth later on. It was almost like seeing the disloyal little twerps choking on karma in real time.

I’m still going to the Stockport game and I’m going to clap the players off. They’ve put in a colossal effort this season. We’d all have gladly taken the playoffs at the start of the season, it’s a great achievement.

We lost out to two plastic American clubs and some stupid decisions by the leadership at the start of the year. But we’ve still done really well this season.

Hopefully not one of our first team players will even be at the ground next Saturday! Let them go on holiday or a day spa, rest the legs and pick the academy. Our players look mentally and physically exhausted. So it’ll be nice for them to have some time off.

That’s true, but frankly I’d take actually trying to score a goal to even be in a position to concede a stoppage time leveller.

Under Dodds there’s no attempt to attack. Ever.

We have Fred playing fullback and barely croasing the half way line, which is just pointless. Kone has to do it all alone with no support. Humphreys nowhere near where he can influence the game.

This isn’t things not quite clicking or failing to punish teams when on top. This is just meek, boring sufferball every week.

No attempt to win. No attempt to entertain. That’s what’s losing the fans, not the results.

I mean, if we played like this all season and got promoted I’d still not want to watch. It’s painful.

I spent a long time starting at the table before I realized that it’s impossible for us and Stockport to both win next week.

I genuinely don’t think that’s true. Under Dodds it’s downwards.

He’s far too cautious in his selection, won’t change things up when it’s not working and has no desire for anything beyond keeping a clean sheet.

Ha ha, happens to the best of us!

Woaahhh - hang on a minute!!! Team in the playoffs and messed it up?

Bloomfield took on a team who had just lost two of the best players in the league in Mawson and Mehmeti, the manager of the past 10 years had just left LITERALLY in tears such was his bond with the players which undoubtedly must have had an impact on his ā€˜generals’, we had lost club stalwarts in Bayo 6 months earlier and even Bloomfield himself due to his concussion injury at the beginning of the season! We were a side well and truly out performing our expectations. Rob Couhig was always going to stick by him when he struggled the following season to begin with as he knew him so well and encouraged him to take a managers job elsewhere if he ever wanted to be the Wycombe boss.

This situation is entirely different and it beggars belief some compare this to that period. The moment GA left the board knew who they wanted and got him. The moment Bloomfield left, the current board were up sh1t creek without a paddle. An interim chairman showing exactly why he is interim and not a true chairman because there was no succession planning, which ANY business owner should always have. We took an age to get someone and then after all that it was someone taking on their first job which was astonishing quite frankly. If they wanted someone as a long term part of the development plan and see Dodds as that man then in the position we were in they should have appointed him in the summer and took on an experienced manager to get us over the line on an interim basis.

Anyway, pretty certain there’s something going on behind the scenes so we won’t have to be putting up with this for much longer.

I get what you’re saying, I was thinking more long term. The academy and pathway to first team is the main plan for the big project. I also thought all levels of the club are to have a ā€˜style of play’ with players developed and bought in that suit the style and a head coach who will be applying the style as best he can. I really can’t imagine the current style of play is going to be long term. ā€˜Come play at our academy, its all about out of possession defending!’
