Match day thread: Lincoln 25th April 2026 (A)

I don’t recall “the animal noises nonsence”!

I like Junior’s celebration and so does my son. The chap obviously has talent but I’d love the Instagram views and the end product on a consistent basis.

I am not sure how you set up to win 4-3. As it happens, the argument is void because we set up to draw 0-0 and lost 3-4.

Theres a football merch shop in Exeter that does exactly this. No Grecians shirts to be seen, all City, Liverpool Chelsea and Man U.

A cursory glance at the table tells me we’d get relegated if we drew every match this season just as much as if we lost every match this season. So therefore given I’m paying every week to watch us perform, I’d prefer to see us set up to win matches by playing in a cavalier way, even if sometimes we lose, then set up to grind out a scoreless draw. You may prefer the latter option, that is entirely within your rights. I guess that just means we have a difference of opinion. I’m sorry you find that strange.

“set up to win matches” - revolutionary stuff

ps. not conceding goals is being “set up to win matches”

Surely not conceding goals is being set up to not get beaten, you might occasionally win though.

Yes parents of football mad kids desperate to wear their team’s current kit are indeed. I didn’t think my club would take the piss though. I’ll now be getting it in the neck from my son about why he can’t have any of the new kits. It is absolutely sickening.

Mate, you’ve set unrealistic expectations here. You take him to games wearing a top made out of a potato sack you’ve coloured in with a biro for the first few years, then, when you finally buy him a 2021 O’Neills shirt off eBay he’s absolutely stoked.

We’ve wasted 10.5 months of our hard earned money watching our squad waste 10.5 months of the season - the cost of the current kit is the least of our worries !!

Ironically, I’ve been watching Wycombe since March 2011, and have probably been to about 300 matches in that time, without ever seeing us win 4-3. I wasn’t at the famous Carlisle game, and I’m guessing there must be others I missed too in that time, but I can’t recall any right now.

Conversely, Saturday was the 4th time I’d seen us lose 4-3 in-person, alongside:

Notts County (h) - 2012

Spurs (a) - 2017

Norwich (h) - 2018

Any other 4-3 scorelines I’ve missed?

Just done some research! Turned out I also missed these wins:

Morecambe (h) - 2021

Southend (h) - 2019

And these losses:

MK (a) - 2011

Preston (a) - 2011

So we’ve had nine 4-3s in the last 16 seasons, of which 3 were in the 2011/12 season

Ah so really I should’ve said, depends if you preferred watching Wycombe under Peter Taylor or Gary Waddock :grimacing::grimacing::grimacing:

I’ve got as far as Wimbledon at Home so far. No great surprises as yet.
