Match Day Thread: Northampton Town, 20th Sept 2025

Really liking Woodrow so far. Uses his body excellently. Clearly knows how to game the ref. Does all the basics right. Streetwise. Think he’s a smart addition. Let’s hope we keep him past January, although I sadly have my doubts.

Yeh…. he’s one of our most effective players. We all know this apart from you.

We are so back

Beautiful clever ball from that useless player Leahy to set up Harvie to score with his weaker foot

He only scores with his ‘weak’ foot

today not always …

Not watching, what’s the formation?

Good to see Duff with 100% first half goals.

Probably the flattest midfield three I can remember us playing since Ainsworth era in a 4-3-3. None of this fancy 3-diamond-3 out of possession nonsense either. Brilliant basics. Empowers the players who are good enough to be creative themselves without a manager telling them to reinvent a wheel

Great assist by Leahy

Am watching from a box today, ooo err. Have Danuard in my sight line. They seem pleased. Stewards gave rumour of Lommy here (i haven’t scanned this thread). Direct sexiness so far. Viva Duff.

Weird to think that dominating the possession doesn’t have to be mindless and toothless.

I’d forgotten you can just completely dominate teams without your centre backs and keeper having the most touches.

Glad that Michael Duff believes in the Wycombe tradition of the 22nd minute keeper injury break

60% possession 7 shots, 5 of which in first 6 minutes. Taylor and Grimmer look much more comfortable and confident in this back 4.

The shapes better, we don’t look like conceding.

Duff was just going absolutley nuts at the players for not getting close enough, great to see, it’s been a long time.

Woodrow is a bit of a bar steward, love it. Leahy having a good game backwards and forwards.
