Match Day Thread: Plymouth (H) 22nd Aug 2026

Getting absolutely bullied out there. They’re physically all over us. Not trying to start a pile on but Grimmer is having a shocker. That left footed ‘clearance’ that went about 5 yards and straight to the opponents was real Sunday league stuff.

I would have all 6 bench players in the team minus the keeper. Shocking selection from Duff.

I like him but Dodds would have been castigated for this.

A Dodds-like performance. Simply not good enough, and Duff must take his share of the blame.

We look poor again with no real goal threat, seeing plenty of the ball in the middle of the park but that doesn’t win games.

Could we be relegated this season?

Bloody hell it’s not that bad.

Duff not starting even 1 striker is taking the piss,is he trying to prove a point?

I agree Grimmer has been poor. My point is its not a surprise that a manager has started the club captain in the first home game of the season over a loanee. You can disagree but, surely, you cant be aghast.

Were simply way too light in the middle. Theres been little for a striker to feed on, but a number 9 brings attention to move up the pitch.

With 3 nippy strikers, you need room in behind to run into, and Argyle are fairly sturdy there. Pity as an early goal would’ve rattled them.

Duff making a point?

Give it a rest the No9’s we had this morning on our books are all not good enough, Fink, Woodrow and Tezgel

Fink is not the answer sign a bloody striker :musical_notes: I sang this in the Frank Adams last Jan… thats how long this problem has gone on… why can we not sign a no9 look in the National gamble on someone who only scored 15+ and is young

I can see the logic of the line-up - forget about trying to compete in the physical battle and hit them on the break with through balls from Hendo, Mullins and Scowen to three very quick front players. Has almost come off a few times. There will be more space for us in the second half.

Has no future Charlton - fits the bill! Daniel Kanu (footballer) - Wikipedia has scored 7 in a season in LG1 off the bench. Did well out on loan in LG2

Plymouth players "Can you hear mooing?’

No reason why we can’t be relegated, it’s happened to better teams in relation to the teams around them, West Ham 03/04 for example. We’ve no fight, no desire and no quality.

It is though, isn’t it.

If we lose today that’s only 14 points from our last 14 games since the beginning of March.

We have looked very poor for effectively 3 months and we don’t seem to be able to play with any cohesion or consistency.

It’s worrying.

I can’t believe Gab Sutton had us in 15th! Oh wait, I’m late to that party…

Fred needs to make sure the ball does not come back at us… he needs to do more to hold it up/Thomas/Junior need to get closer to him… masses of spaces in holes between them all

The CF, isolated? Shocked.
