Agreed it was laid the same time as the pitch relay, I saw it in process and up close when we did the seat cleaning last year (another reason to join the seat cleaning crew pre season!) and noted how close the astro was to the pitch, but there isn’t a curb or whatever and seeing the number of games played on it over the last season without incident I think it might be the SW lot just screaming for a scapegoat when their injury prone top boy did himself another mischief. It was the other side of the pitch that struck me as odd at the time. By the dugouts the astro slopes downwards from the pitch to the dugouts, I had images of linos and team managers going over due to the slope. This hasn’t happened, also as someone said the pitch and surrounds need to pass inspection which it has for two seasons now.

The player himself seemed in no doubt what had caused it, as he was pointing down at the ground a few times.

Players do that when they’ve scuffed a shot over an open goal, misplaced a pass or tripped over their own arse.

Does the screen in the car park work in the rain ?
I suspect it will sustain all seasons. Otherwise, this is completely the wrong country for that sort of thing given we’re probably less than a month away from 6 months of continuous rain!
