The Gasroom away day guide can be found here.
My mate has selfishly arranged himself a 3PM wedding for today, so can’t even follow here for score updates for most of the game.
Ewan Henderson on fire. 4-0 Wycombe.
The bloody pies are bloody old
The bloody chips are bloody cold
The bloody beer is bloody flat
The bloody flats have bloody rats
The bloody clocks are bloody wrong
The bloody days are bloody long
It bloody gets you bloody down
Evidently chicken town
John Cooper Clarke. Part of a poem he wrote about Stevenage.
Something wrong with your statement, it should have read “ex-mate”
Why is there ill-feeling towards Stevenage? Has something happened in the past that I’ve missed?

If anyone knows of any lawful impediment to this manager, speak now or forever hold your peace
Genuine question and shout at me all you like. If I were selecting the team, my midfield three would be Caolan Boyd-Munce (as the 6), Ewan Henderson and Magnus Westergaard. Does anyone else not have Jamie Mullins starting?
For me we look a lot more fluid without Leahy . As long as he doesn’t start I will be happy. He almost certainly will though .
Seems a bit harsh on Mullins as he’s probably been our best and he works hard but we’re far from the finished article so worth a try, I’m not entirely convinced Westergard is a better bet despite people’s best hopes for him and some nice cameos.
Really like the look of Henderson.
Westergaard is the closest we have to having a bit of a physical presence.
You’ll thank them later…
The most relaxed I have felt during a season was when we were in the Championship. It was a bit like a free shot in pool. I didn’t expect anything and to win a few games was always going to be a bonus so I felt zero anxiety. Up until this season, whenever the goalkeeper had control of the ball you would have that same feeling for a few brief seconds. Now we’re playing it out from the back I feel like I’ve lost this natural moment for a breather. It’s not a positive or a negative - certainly more exciting as you don’t know if we’ll do something brilliant or mess it right up. I wonder if the club have taken this into account with their risk assessments as I’m not sure my heart can take it.
Well George Abbott certainly hasn’t thats for sure .
I’d have the same based on what I’ve seen so far and the need for a result at the moment.
It gives us a bit more than experience and solidity.
But Mullins could become an excellent player and should be getting plenty of minutes this season. Something like 20 starts and 10 games off the bench. Similar situation with Abbott.
This is really where the challenge of balancing immediate priorities with long-term aims comes in. Mullins could develop into a player with £££ value in a few years. To achieve that he needs game time. That’s the only way we can punch well bive our weight and sustain ourselves in higher divisions. Equally, we need to get results now so there has to be moments where we select for ability and experience over potential.
If we get it right then at some point the playera with potential just become your best performers.
Wait a sec, are you and @Chairboys80…
Anyone planning on going to the Roebuck Inn per the away guide - don’t!
it’s an Indian restaurant now as I’ve just found out first hand
Could be a lot worse!
Kone starts for the R’s and sets up their first goal with a lovely dummy. Sigh.
