I have a feeling this particular episode will only draw to a close at the end of the season.
Sad for Bloomfield it didnât work out.
Such a shame he didnât stay. If Rice hadnât forced him out, weâd probably be in the Championship!
Iâd imagine some of the songs are enjoyed by a few posters on this thread. Dismal stuff.
But weâd have the best Academy in League 2!
The only good news about Bloomfield leaving is I now feel comfortable going to Luton away.
Wishing misfortune on someone is not nice.
I will never be absolutely sure why Matt left the Chairboys but the position at Luton was his job after all and I never like to see anyone fail at their job.
Good luck to him in the future and I am sure he will be back in the hunt for another job after he has taken a rest from the rat race.
I was more worried about the home game. Imagine coming back to a place with so many happy memories where youâd given years of great service only to be booed by people with the emotional intelligence of an amoeba.
He signed quite a long contract, so the compensation hopefully means he doesnât have any financial worries for quite a long period.
Still an uncertain future though and unlike most of us, he canât be certain of a job within a decent commute either.
Blackpool are looking for a new boss
I hoped it would work out for Bloomfield at Luton, mainly because I love the guy, but also because otherwise the events of Jan 2025 were for absolutely nothing, and no one is left any better off.
Iâm optimistic about the future under Duff, but my god this year has been a hard reality check for Wycombe fans. Weâre going to end the year in a much weaker position than we started it. Knowing one of our greatest ever servants had at least taken himself off to something better wouldâve softened the blow somewhat.
Blackpool isnât THAT bad
There is nothing comfortable about Luton away. Particularly if youâre over 5â6â
They are three points off the play offs and eight off autos, itâs hardly insurmountable, regardless of what some fans are hankering for.
Charlton after 11 games last season were W5 D2 L4 and had one more point than Luton have now. They went up.
No one will ever know what was going to happen next but far too often managers are not given enough time.
Interestingly, Luton had switched to a back four 3 games ago. One win, one draw and one defeat.
The difference, as Iâm sure Luton fans are quick to point out, is that there very nearly stayed in the PL two seasons ago. I think they thought theyâd waltz thru the league like Birmingham.
Matt Bloomfield Road
I did quickly scan the thread to see what provoked such a strong reaction.
A couple of people saying maybe that he wasnât quite as welcome as heâd initially thought - one of them being one of the forumâs entertaining quirky posters.
Maybe I missed the bad stuffâŚ
I hope not! We need to give Noel more time. What is the use of âMusical Managersâ. The new man in charge will want to bring in his own players at the next window. Will mean more time fort hem to gel and another sacking if it takes more than a few weeks? Probably.
You need not worry. Rob Couhig is no knee-jerker.
Wanted him to do well but it wasnât to be.
Hopefully he gets another shot at a decent club.
At least it was an old school British sacking. Full support of the board and two days later âwe wish him all the bestâ
Not like Dodds getting whacked in the club carpark.
