Dodds stating “I’m more methodical and deep thinking” in comparison with Bloomfield.
That resonates with what my friend from Sunderland told me. His friend who worked there said Dodds thinks he is chocolate.

That was a punishing ten minutes.
I love Micheal Duff.
I must have been watching something else. I thought he seemed so much more relaxed and at ease now he is not in the hot seat (not one chin stroke in sight!). The pressure really did look like it was telling in the last few months with us.
I know it’s Oxford, but they have two throughly decent blokes at the helm. It may seem like an odd couple on paper, but I really hope it works out for them. Both deserve to flourish
I’ve just got round to watching it and I thought it was a really good interview. Very interesting story about how they met and how Blooms approached him about the job.
People seem obsessed with sticking the boot into Dodds at every opportunity long after he’s gone. Bit sad if you ask me.
I’m pleased to see him looking happy and ordinarily I’d be willing him and Matt Bloomfield on to every success but I can’t of course because they’re at Oxford
Yeah, I didn’t have time to watch all of it (I did watch over half) but I thought Dodds came across OK too, and I think negotiated the bits about disappointment at his “former role” well without coming across like he has an axe to grind.
Decent guy I think who was placed in the wrong role, but that’s our poor choice, not a reason to hate him.
Comes across like an entirely different fella in that interview. I enjoyed it.
“It’s been a worldwind couple of weeks”, we’ve heard that somewhere before…
Did he actually say worldwind ?!
Crikey. Where did that Dodds come from? Good interview, looks happy and relaxed. Fair play to the bloke.
Would love to have been a fly on the wall during his coffee shop chat with Blooms.
So do I but as a fellow Michael I feel constrained to demand a spelling correction !! ![]()
Dodds was totally out of his depth when he came to us and hence failed dramatically. Comes across as a decent guy and I thought he came across ok in the interview. At least his ears and nose were not get touched every few seconds. I’d wish him well but it’s Oxford.
Most certainly so!
I can’t face any ten minute football interviews so did not watch. I think both Blooms and Dodds were not well served by the people above them. Dodds seemed a decent fellow but not a L1 head coach in my opinion.
Yikes!
Sorry for that @micra I’ve always had a blind spot for the a and e in Michael.
I wouldn’t have been too upset to have seen him moved sideways with us, into coaching the academy players maybe. Nice bloke, but totally unsuited (imho) to front line “management”.
Why oh why are Wycombe fans watching Oxford United videos? Are they living rent free in your heads?
Perhaps because they’re interested in the first public words from their former head coach?
Are these Wycombe fans living rent free in your head? Sounds like it.
Why though. He is at another club now. Goodbye.
To be fair, its a dedicated thread about Mike Dodds. If his current employment doesn’t interest you, you don’t have to open it!
‘This history nonsense. What’s the point of it? It’s gone, move on, get over it. Martin who? Gareth what? Who cares. In fact, why are there post match interviews? No point. It’s all happened. Close down the gasroom too - I don’t want to read thoughts that happened in the past. Goodbye’.
