Other football

No internet, no mobile phones - life was so much simpler! If I wanted to find something out, I went down to the library and, if I couldn’t find it in a book, I ordered a book for collection a week or two later.

League Cup final has been very dull so far

Probably anxious to get his redundancy cheque!

Good to see even Arsenal have a keeper capable of a howler.

Apparently he’d been informed of a family bereavement so his assistant took on post-match duties.

Surely they wouldn’t throw the dice again this late into the season? Who knows these days? Wouldn’t surprise me to see Ol’ ‘Arry rock up and guide them to a couple of wins and safety.

Huddersfield manager Liam Manning has been granted compassionate leave for the remainder of the season. This is related to issues relating to the death of his new born son eighteen months ago - presumably either his and/or his wife’s mental health. I am sure we all wish him and his family well.

How awful. I hope he and his family find the help they need. Well done Huddersfield Town.

I tell you what’s remarkable about it - that Gerhard Struber has been sacked. I mean, he has them in and around the play-offs for the first half of the season, entirely unexpectedly, before the club sells off players (in a business-like manner, I concede) bringing pretty much no replacements in. So surprised, surprise, their form nosedives and they lose 6 in a row. What did they expect?

He’s probably said something to that effect and been dispensed with.

He was mourning the death of his father.

Great way to book your place at Wembley. Congrats to Wealdstone. https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AbtuZqiwG/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Wow I didnt know Gary Waddock was their manager now. Good luck to them.

Southend the other team in the final. You’ll have 30000+ Southend and about 5000 Wealdstone.

Quite fancy going and supporting the Stones.

They last won the FA Trophy in 1984/85 when they beat us in the 2nd round at Lower Mead and went on to beat Boston 2-1 in the final at Wembley.

They also became the first club to win the non league double in 1985 as they also won the Alliance Premier which would become the GM Vauxhall Conference in 1986.

No great surprise that Igor Tudor has parted company from Spurs

BBC News - Igor Tudor leaves Tottenham after just seven games in charge - BBC Sport

Was never sure why they appointed him, his resume isnt a great read

Just noticed that the losers from last weeks World Cup playoffs are playing eachother this evening.

These must be the saddest games of football ever.
