They’ve lost 44 games combined this season. This must be the lowest-quality Europa League final of all time by that measure.
Even the first goal is a bit comical.
A suitably shit goal. Interesting to see a few United shirts behind the celebrating Spurs fans there. Is it not entirely segregated?
4-3 with them all being own goals would be fitting for the occasion
Good that these two piles of shite are separated at HT by an handball own goal.
joey sums it up
This game is balancing out the universe after Inter v Barca. I love it.
That clearance was Jacobson-esque
It was in the 3-3 Sunderland wasn’t it?
You know it’s been a poor game when even McCoist is struggling to sound enthusiastic
Losing to Tottenham in a final takes some doing. Awful game but well done to the Lilywhites.
i’m guessing both managers are gone next week making this el sackicco?
United need to sign at least 10 quality players because the current squad must be the poorest they’ve had in the last 20 years. However not being in Europe next season may put off the top players.
“What is the charge? Winning a trophy? A succulent European Trophy?”
See Notts County sacked their manager today for failing in the play offs, different circumstances and longer tenure of course.
For those who played local Sunday morning football, I have the sad news to report that Bill Cleere has passed away. This man was a referee for over 50yrs and was the Chairman & then President of the local referee association. The image is one of him collecting his MBE from King Charles.
A fearsome referee. I’m sure many of us have been on the wrong end of a stern lecture from Bill.
Very sad news. Was very supportive when I took up refereeing back in the 80s and also IIRC officiated in some form at an FA cup final. Great servant to Refereeing and WWWFC. RIP Bill
Bill was a true gentleman and also a great mentor. I learnt a lot from him as part of the HW Ref Society and not just about being a match official but life lessons in general. He will be missed
Condolences to his family.
Tonight on Discovery/TNT, Como v Inter Milan and Napoli v Cagliari.
Going into the final game of the season, Napoli top the table by one point from Inter. Should they both end up with the same points, if Napoli lose and Inter draw, it will not be decided by goal difference, which is 12 in favour of Inter. Instead there will be a play-off, nominally at Inter, because of their better goal difference, or possibly at a neutral venue for security reasons.
