It’s not even Covid really, it’s successive governments trying to act hard by increasing sentences and extending laws as a response to anything happening whilst completely ignoring and underfunding the crumbling police and legal systems.
Life rather than 18 years for one thing, eighteen rather than six months for another pacifies a news interviewer but counts for nothing when someone is deciding wether to commit a crime and even less when the court case gets delayed for years or the evidence gets thrown out, or they have to be let out to let others in anyway.

Spot on Strongest. Government by tabloid headline. I still have the jury out on this Government tbh - they haven’t had a year yet and they had a hell of a mess to clear up - but in truth not overly optimistic.

Without wanting to derail another thread with mention of Matt Bloomfield, I do feel that this deserves a reference.
It says a lot about the man and ethos of our club that he spent 20 years at when you read about his gesture of travelling to Belgium to accompany his player home who had just lost his father.

Okay maybe that was worded poorly.
I wish him the best, shame it was Luton, but we need to collectively move on and support the current management. Once Bloomfield turned good the constant comparison to GA and the previous regime seemed to die down. I’d prefer to stay in our lane until he’s a rival is what I’m saying, I’m sorry I offended you so deeply.

Where have I said it was a shit result, I was just adding to why the stats might be so one sided given that Luton played over half the game with an extra man.

Whilst I am pleased for Bloomfield that he has at long last got something akin to a tune out of Luton, it has zero bearing on our actual performances.
