Talking of offsides not given, felt like the lino on the family stand side missed every single one yesterday
Bolton are having a clear out in January to reduce their wage bill.
Morley has only started 6 games for the other Wanderers this season.
Given the huge change of how Wycombe play football post-Dodds. Is Aaron someone we still could look for or has that ship sailed? I still feel he would strengthen us but I’m slightly biased as he was my favourite player at the time, he’s passing was sublime.
Important: the article does not make an explicit reference to Morley.
Aaron Morley would still be a fantastic addition to this squad. He is better than we have currently. A midfield of Morley, Scowen and Henderson would be incredible, with Leahy, Mullins, CBM and Westergaard in reserve.
It’s funny, given he’s been out so long, I now and then forget.
We’ve turned the corner with Duff and getting results, and we still have one of the best players in League 1 to come back!!
Duff is going to have a full on headache keeping his midfield squad happy.
As crazy as it sounds, Leahy is in the form of his life for me and Morley doesn’t walk straight back into the team if I’m manager. Our midfield balance is super at the moment.
I was really impressed with Leahy on Saturday, particularly the first half.
27 man first team squad, ours is over 30.
I suspect we will be trimming some players and hopefully adding Bell and Woodrow as permanent signings.
Don’t forget we also potentially have Abbot to come back at some stage, he’d hold his own in our midfield too.
In any case, I’d happily sign Morley - not just because he’s a good footballer, but becuase the one thing I’m a little concerned about in the medium term is running out of steam. Did anyone see the interview with Duff a few weeks back when he mentioned that he thought the reason his Huddersfield side dropped off was because they were tired? I think that playing the way we are at the moment, we probably need six midfielders who can rotate those three positions as both starters and finishers. Currently the ones good enough are: Mullins, Leahy, Henderson, and Boyd-Munce, with Scowen and Abbott to return. Since the latter two will be returning from serious injuries, adding at least one more would be sensible (hard to say whether Westergaard ought to be on that list - not sure I’ve seen enough yet).
Excellent point about Abbott.
I think we have to be very careful about our expectations of Josh Scowen. Sadly, there are numerous examples of players (the vast majority much younger than Josh) whose careers have subsequently faltered or, indeed, ended. Needless to say, I desperately hope that Josh is the exception that proves the ‘rule’.
100% - he’s absolutely smashing it and has a really good understanding with Henderson
A dream League 1 midfield if all three are fit.
The only one angry with Leahy on the pitch lately has been Dan Harvie. Who was also angry with Mullins, Anders, the linos, the ref, the stewards, the ball boys, the weather, the wifi and the lack of a kiosk in the Origin stand.
I love that guy.
Harvie is great but he can moan for Scotland. A few weeks back he had a go at Norris and Norris’s reply was not repeatable within my post but ended in the word ‘off’’.
Leahy can dish it out as well. He dug out Cauley Woodrow a few times on saturday.
I like to see it. Teams that win things are usually those that are comfortable with “constructive criticism” amongst team mates
Idrissa Gueye sent off after an argument with Michael Keane.
Yes they are both on the same team
Didn’t even look like that much, bizarre
Just shown a replay from different angle, it still doesn’t look like enough for a red card.
Although they are saying “A clear strike to the face”.
Yeah, I think by the letter of the law it’s a red
