Just had a meeting with a Huddersfield supporting client who recommended I watch their goal from last night - Huddsf'ld 1 - 0 Luton - Match Report & Highlights

Double value with the Alfie May sending off

Another ‘exciting young’ managerial disaster for Luton. Hes not doing any better than Blooms is he? Which old school hack will they end up appointing to steady the ship do we think?

They could go for the old school hack Steve Evans who has achieved a record of W1 D1 L5 at our old friends Bristol Rovers and has them one point outside of relegation to the Conference…

I’m old enough to remember our resident village idiot clamouring for us to hire Wilshere.

Last night listening on Three Counties Radio to Luton fans’ apoplexy and calls for the heads of Gary Sweet, Jack Wilshere and every single player on a platter was a joy (as was seeing the Terriers goal). Surely that’s why Luton’s apparently fine squad is not performing: the utterly unreasonable expectations and the demand for perfection every minute of every game. There’s plenty of unreasonableness among the Wanderers fan base, and it’s certainly got worse since COVID, but we generally give players a bit of time and don’t get after them from minute one. It pays dividends.

Against ten men too, following probably the softest straight red i’ve ever seen.

Lovely goal though.

One week they were texting in high praise of Kodua…the next week they were asking what use he was…

Benfica’s GK scores an injury time header against Real Madrid to secure the last CL play-off spot and push Real out of automatic progression into the playoffs.
Benfica’s opponents in the playoffs? 50% chance it will be Real Madrid.
Funny old game

I’ve got no love for Luton but can forgive their fans a little for their frothing and bemusement. They’ve been on one hell or a ride, from the bottom to the top and have plummeted again pretty quickly. That said, Sweet has been part of that meteoric rise and orchestrated the new stadium move? Not a bad legacy.

I’m glad I grew up in a time when the champions league group stage was exotic and meaningful. I can’t be the only 90s kid that cut his teeth on names like Galatasaray and Gothenburg.

He pulled his hair, yanking the fella’s head back. That’s been a straight red for quite some time now and was a pretty dangerous thing to do.

yup…remember this?

Can we compare the two though?

The Bean assault was an orchestrated twattish move, whereas Alfie May just looked to be trying to grip the shirt and clumsily pulled the hair.

Still a red, but not quite the sinister overtones of the Bean incident.

Looked a complete accident to me and as soon as he realised he’d grabbed the hair he let go

Still, it’s Alfie May, and also it then led to Luton managing one shot in an hour against ten men and their supporters descending into a howling rage, so undoubtedly the correct decision

TBH I didn’t actually see the May incident, so I’m not saying they were comparable, just agreeing with NewStyleofPlay that you’re not allowed to pull someone back by the hair.

Nothing like that was it?

Could have done something serious and permanent at the speed they were going.

Absolutely the right thing to send May off. But on the subject of Alfie May I watched the Huddersfield v Bradford game on TV Saturday. He os a damn fine footballer
