Rumour Mill

As the previous thread was so popular, I thought that I’d make a new one so we can share any stories / rumours of new player signings.

Has Morley signed yet?

Forget Morley. There is this lad by the name of Dave Tarpey we should take a look at.

I heard T. Player will guarantee us Championship survival if Lommy is willing to open his checkbookski

Press speculation linking us with West Ham youngster Callum Marshall…

“A report from the Bucks Free Press” means you might as well file this under garbage already.

Apparently WWFC could be in line to sign him …

but then in theory we could sign anyone.

So journalism nowadays at the BFP is to take articles from other sources and present them as a scoop? Sloppy, lazy journalism as expected from that rag

if we lose Kone and have also lost Vokes and Bez we need to better than this guy, looks a handy choice off the bench but not as our main man

I would be concerned if we are going to rely upon a cohort of loanees, who may become established as first choice starters and who could then be recalled by their parent clubs in January.

As we saw in the current season, this can cause disruption to the squad, and a downturn in results.

If the management are serious about taking the club to levels it has never achieved before (as stated on the website), they need to get ML to release funds to buy a raft of Championship quality players, and do a Birmingham City in 2025/26.

My feeling is that loanees don’t align with the clubs vision at all.

I’m sure we’ll see gaps plugged from time to time by players of a similar profile to Bradley.

But there’s not much point building an academy if the pathway to senior playing time is blocked by 4-5 young loanees from the Premier League every season.

Scotland GK Angus Gunn is now a free agent…

Not a rumour but if Dan Rice is lurking on here could you have a look at him? Cheers, ta.

So apparently, there are two transfer windows this summer due to the Club World Cup - an initial week long and then the traditional which I didn’t know about.

All clubs are eligible for the week long one, not just clubs involved in the club WC.

The initial window will be between 1st - 10th June and then the standard window opens 16th June through September 1st.

Callum Marshall continues to be linked to Wycombe as already posted here earlier.

Breaking the transfer window like that is a nonsense isn’t it. I understand the pressure to create an earlier opening time, from teams in the club world cup, but to then “close” it again for 5 days! Why?

Makes no odds to us, they can play in friendlies, don’t need to register them until the first league game.

Looking at the Championship released lists, I fancy Stuart Armstrong or Josh McEachran in midfield and Cyrus Christie at right back.

But since this is Rumour Mill rather than Players We’d Like To See, may I retrospectively preface the above with “A mate who works with the groundsman’s aunty has heard…”

I see your thought process… but do we want aging pros that had minimal game time last season?

we need some real quality in the window …my view/team below

GK- Norris (Starter )
RB - Grimmer (Starter ) Back (back up).
CB Anders (starter)
CB Low.(starter if stays )
LB Harvie (starter)
CM Westergaard (Starter)
CM - Lowry (starter)
CM. Starfer to fill.(as scowen injured )
LF - Berry (starter)
CF - Kone (starter) Udou back up
RF - Fred (Gmac back.up)

We need
CB x 2 (hopefully Sonny one of them)
LB x 1 (squad.player)
CM.x 2 (hopefully simmons one of them)
LF x 1
RW x 1
CF x 2 (1 starter)

To loan out
Jasper
Skura

Sell/move on
Hartridge
Butcher
Taf
Leahy (still dont think he is good enough for.promotion chasing team)

I believe that Butcher can fill the hole that Scowen’s injury has caused.
