But you listed both Danes, Lowry & Berry who weren’t good enough to start in our last promotion push as “starters” for this season’s promotion push…? If we are going for promotion, there’s no way a 9-10 goals a season back-up striker will fill that role. Look at Wrexham, Birmingham, even Leyton Orient, there are goals throughout the squad

Lowry was great when played wheras the Danes and Berry were hardly given a chance, hopefully a good pre season then can show us what they have got…Butcher is steady but not top end league 1 imo.

My colleague with his ear close to the Swansea boardroom door says Joe Low is a done deal for them. Then again, he also said that in January.

This time we can’t stop him

I’ve been almost certain a deal with someone has been done with low for a while, which is why he barely featured at the tail end of the season (not that I thought either Bradley or Taylor deserved to be dropped)

I think we are likely to have seven or eight new starters on the first day of the 2025-26 season.

Guaranteed starters from current squad surely , Norris , Anders, Westergaard, Harvie and Kone

I’m genuinely more worried about us staying up next season rather than competing for honours.

I think Kone staying longer than next season is both in ours and Rich’s hands. If we come out of the blocks flying, and we’re pushing for Promotion again, then I think he signs a new deal. If he has a quiet first half, we may try to cash in.

I can’t underline the importance of Dan Harvie. He was as impactful as Morley for our attacking play, and getting the odd goal himself.

As much as I want Lowry to succeed, and he’s had some wonderful cameos, he’s clearly still not ready to be a first XI but hopefully we’ll see more of him next season.

As for the Danes and Berry, who knows. Fin Back looks like a great future player, but there’s no point in having him, and Jasper and Jack. I suspect Back or Jasper to be loaned out next season.

I personally think we should keep hold of Butch now Scowen is likely to be out for the season. If he would be happy to fulfil the backup role.

I agree with Midlander, I think we’re going to see plenty of new faces in the team this season and I’m expecting some money to change hands alongside some crafty loan deals. Very exciting.

Who knows what we’re going to do with the GK. I want Norris to succeed. But would love to know what’s in his head, and does he want to succeed with Wycombe?

Yes I’d keep Butcher too, a decent player who had a significant impact on our turnaround under Matt Bloomfield but who strangely didn’t get a look in at all this campaign.

With Josh out for a year he has to be a decent option. Unless we’re intending to sign half the midfielders in the Championship and Danish top-flight, which could well happen.

The interesting thing about watching him play at Rovers was how good his set piece deliveries were, particularly his corners. The Rovers fans were raving about them.

We never really saw that at Wycombe as Luke Leahy basics insists on taking everything. But Butcher’s are definitely better.

I suppose you might argue it will be 2-3 years before we have anything like a serious crop of development players ready for the first team

exactly this …Luke wants to makes everything about him rather than the teams best interest

I’m not sure how players who weren’t good enough last season suddenly become guaranteed starters

I don’t think you can possibly say the Danes are guaranteed starters. Neither have started a game before for the club.

the regime will make sure both Danes will be starters after a good pre season

Bizarre isn’t it? Wishful thinking I guess. Same with the Danes - good luck to them but where have they been so far? They’re not raw 19 year olds.

Does anyone else remember how immobile Butcher looked least season until he went out on loan? He was great in his first season, but bang average in 24/25.

Which demonstrates why I’m concerned about us getting relegated next season.

I agree, nowhere near up to the quality needed if we are pushing for promotion. I guess it depends on our ambitions for next season.

Weve already have our maximus allowance of 2 overseas players for league 1.
4 are allowed in the Championship, only 2 below that.

Players like Hartridge are in a strong position financially. We can only have 22 contracted players over the age of 21 (excluding keepers).
I would think Hartridge or Taffizoli are unlikely to feature in the ownership groups plans. So if they dont manage to attract a club either permanent or loan that matches their current salaries, they will stay put, or wait for the club to pay up most or all of their existing contract, so it will free up a squad place.
This is why i believe an increasing amount of players over 21 are having their contracts mutually settled, as window deadline day approaches.
