Rumour Mill

Rumours are the Paudie O’Connor deal is OFF.

of course , becase we diddle daddle…will be left with Skura and Hartridge as part of back 3 …that is non league standard !

Don’t forget we have Taff back to add some pace to that back three.

You say that, but I think you’re off. Hartridge has played plenty of League One and Two games for Exeter, and Skura is definitely good enough for league football. That said, if we’re serious about pushing on as a club, they’re probably not at the level we’re aiming to get to.

He never had pace when he joined… that’s nothing new. But has he, more often than not, been a good defender for us? The answer is yes, despite that lack of pace.

With the greatest of respect to Skura he should be no where near the starting 11 at Wycombe if Wycombe see themselves as promotion contenders.
He’ll go on to have a decent career at National League level would be my guess.

You say National League, but he’s already proven himself more than competent in League One that’s exactly why Bloomfield kept playing him

Wouldn’t panic about signings from what i’m hearing some serious money will be spent on players(wages) and the amount of money that’s been spent on the pitch and training ground is eye watering.

Agreed. It was an interim window. I have no basis other than pure optimism, but I believe there are big things ahead of us player wise.

We must be around the £2m mark if we take into account AP frontage, new pitch, new drainage, new undersoil plus all the work and construction done at Marlow Road?

He played a handful of games at the start of the season and then sporadic appearances in cups. The difference between him and Taylor, Bradley and Low is massive.
I wish him the best but he’s not quick enough or dominant in the air to play certainly league 1 football.

I don’t doubt it. We proved that with Anders and Magnus. And that’s what worries me.

Dodds and Bloomfield clearly rate him more highly than many of us do. Appearances like Crawley away, coming on for Grimmer before half-time against Leyton Orient, and Mansfield away weren’t just cup games they show he’s been trusted in League fixtures.

TBF, the Physio and the Stretcher had plenty of pace to get him back to his natural environment… The treatment room (Or teeth whitening clinic  )

Given that Skura is considered not good enough for us, I hope the Academy.players we produce are all perfect from day one…development is a dirty word when we want to get back to the Championship where we belong.
(I like Declan myself… but obviously we need to get shot and get some ‘proven’ talent in.)

To be fair, when Skura played alongside Bradley for the FA Cup game against Portsmouth, he held his own & was (or very close) named as MotM. That game was against a Championship opponent. He is still raw but I see really potential in him and so did Bloomfield. If he’s good enough for him, that’s all I need to know.

I think you are being too conservative with the £2m tag. Maybe double or triple and I think you’ll be getting closer to the mark! The work on the pitch is specialised work, custom made and of the highest quality. The work at the training ground is probably the same too so that the team can train there all year in all conditions

Skura was my MOM when we played Swansea midweek away in the Carabao cup, they’re a champ side…and we won too.

He’s 23 not 18. He made ad hock appearances and wasn’t close to the match day squad most of last season. As I say, wish him the best but he defo won’t play regularly at league 1 level.

That worries me as well, not solely Lommy spending his money, but more importantly us breaching the financial regs down the line. Hopefully we have financial experts that know what they’re doing and we don’t end up with points deductions.

I think Declan will do well, after all his surname has Nordic origins!
