Rumour Mill

Can only see some of the above as trolling from the usual, There’s no way the likes of Leahy gets bombed out for a few bad games in favour of players who couldn’t get near the squad for 6 months, Easy to focus on the Danes, who may play a bit more as I can’t imagine people are queuing up to take them away, but Berry wouldn’t have needed to get up to speed or wycombised in order to offer a much needed threat.
Usual reminder unless you want to pay up lots of players with several years left on contracts you need some interest so it’s not in the clubs hands, you could buy another ten first team players but the squad was massive and would still need cutting.

I think the ambitions are obvious. If they weren’t ambitious Ravizolli, Hanlan, Sadlier and Lubala would have all stayed.

Or the players mentioned might have all wanted to go due to the current management!

Butcher would be a great signing for Bristol Rovers to help them back up.

We need a couple of main men not just one .

I made this exact point above and it hasn’t been answered

Boring. Change the record

I know Dodds is boring!

For me the two most important areas to address in the transfer window are in central defence and up front.

Potentially losing Low, Taylor and Bradley and needing to rely on an unproven Anders leaves us very exposed. Signing Bradley would go a huge way to filling the gap. We will definitely need another quality and mobile CB on top of that signing though, otherwise we may well be having Hartridge or Taf as starters for large parts of the season.

The bigger concern for me is up front. Even if we are able to keep hold of the :crown: you could clearly see how his game was impacted by the pressure we had to put on him towards the end of the season. His best games for the club have been when he’s been able to used as more of an impact player. The home game against Posh last year being a great example. I would love for us to sign an experienced and proven goal scorer in the mould of a Paul Mullin (who may well be available) to take some of the pressure off Kone.

We would then have the nucleus of a very strong squad. If Dodds can use these quiet weeks to evaluate what went wrong for the team under his stewardship and put in place plans for a far more progressive, expansive style next year I fully expect us to be competing towards the top end of the table again

I’m as cynical as the next person, but even “playing duds that cost a bomb even if they’re still no good just to make a point” is too much even for me.
If they’re still not good enough after a full pre-season, Rice will have to face up to probably the worst pieces of transfer business in the club’s history. But I doubt even he will make Dodds/the next fall guy play him even if we have better players available.

These aren’t rumours they are just opinion pieces

Cohort of loanees? Surely the correct term is a Lommy of loanees. Or a Dudd of new defenders?

More nonsense “journalism”. Player is a free agent so club might want to sign him. How is this man and earning a living?

I noticed that Sonny Bradley is on Derby County’s list of released players.

I hope that means that we are trying to sign him up on a new contract.

@bargepole where have you been?? We’ve known about this for well over a week :man_facepalming:

All this speculation about signing players? Aren’t we constrained next season by new financial fair play rules? Doesn’t this mean that however much money Lomtadze has, we will have a much lower budget than Luton et al?

Or can we sell the King and spend that profit?

Don’t be nosey, @Otter87 !!

Attending a long trial at the Old Bailey.

The pitch change, installing new drainage and brand new undersoil heating, plus the work being done at the front of the stadium allows us to spend more under the ruleset on a 60/40 basis. The higher % being in our favour to spend on players and salaries. It is speculated we have spent 7 figures on those improvements.

Add on Marlow Road re-build and we should have quite a war chest.
