In summary: Another think coming is the older of the two, dating in use to the mid-19th century, and originated in British English. Another thing coming appears to have come about in American English several decades later, probably as a result of confusion regarding the original phrase. Another thing is the more recent turn of phrase and now is more common, though it is frequently criticized.

Matt Bloomfield himself obviously left us in no doubt about the way he had been cold-shouldered and that should be the end of it as far as he personally is concerned but the anonymity of the rest of your so-called sources will inevitably set us wondering (perfectly understandably) who those people are.
At this stage of the transformation of our beloved football club I’ll venture to suggest that the resurrection of futile debate about what might or might not be going on/have been going on behind the scenes is the last thing most people on here want to see. But it’s human nature to want to know more specific details about the anonymous individuals you’ve referenced.
Are you in fact the anonymous non-fan? I ask that simply because of the timing of your arrival on the Gasroom scene.

You really think those three will be here this time next year? I’ll venture to suggest that even I stand a better chance of being here this time next year. And none of us will be battling in July for the Player of the Season award.

Some people might prefer the Peter Green years or say it’s too commercial, but i think it’s pretty uncontroversial these days to suggest it’s their best album.
