I thought it would be common sense that if a new signing we paid money for cannot regularly make the 18 man match day squad then it’s unlikely that they’d be sticking around. I forgot Berry existed to be honest. Strange signing. Was always worrying when Robbie Savage was adamant that his non-league player would play Premier League one day, yet he wasn’t making the matchday squad at Wycombe.

Sham’s gone out on loan. Assuming Taff, Butcher, Hartridge, and GMac all leave, and with Scowen injured, you’re looking at a 25-man squad once the fringe players are removed out on loan and still possibly two centre-backs short if Hartridge/Taff gone.
Apparently Bolton agreed deal for Ethan Erhahon , surely they cant be after Connell also ? come on Rice …gst this deal done !
I don’t think either of Bolton or Huddersfield are interested in Connell.
A theory that has been presented to me is that Connell wants to stay up north where he has a young family and his agent is trying his best to make that happen. But the only genuine interest is Wycombe.

why does he just not stay at Barnsley as he still has 2 years to run on his contract , if he does not want to come then he can do one and we target ppayers that want to be part of an exciting project

Bolton just signed Lincoln midfielder.
If his family is unhappy about moving south then don’t sign him, if he is unhappy living here his performances will reflect that.
Who remembers that lad that was brilliant in midfield for the first half of one season under Gareth then dropped off because he couldn’t settle down south. He went to either Fleetwood or Morecambe. When they played us he fouled one of our players and injured himself I think it was a career ending injury.

I find it interesting that there has been very little talk on here on loan players.
It wouldn’t surprise me if we are looking into at least a couple to fill any gaps.
And I would have thought that MD has (at the moment at least) a pretty good reputation as a coach to develop young players, so I could easily see a Potts-type player brought in from some Premier team academy before the window closes.
He said in the interview last week that he had specifically asked Rice etc not to sign loan players and that he wanted permanent signings . I doubt therefore we will see any loanees .
They can be much later, the bigger clubs need all their players for multiple pre-season games. That and all the players think they are going to break through. Best bit of the transfer window is just after the first game or two when the penny drops and players realise they are nowhere near it.
Hopefully Rice ignores him.
Well 2 ways of looking at that I suppose . Morley being recalled almost certainly contributed towards our failure to get promoted and Taylor being recalled of for a while caused disruption . So I see his point . On the other hand Humphreys whas a key player for us .
