That’s quite a few more than Scotty Kashket was banned for…
I think that puts an end to the Kone transfer rumours from West Ham…..
Well our last two managers were not sacked were they ? they left. Righly or wrongly Rice clearly thinks Bloomfield walked out half way through a season leaving huge disruption . I would suggest this is what they were talking about . Of course it also does go for someone being sacked but they did not say this . It is only your conclusion that they meant this .
MB may have technically voluntarily left, but I would suggest it was borderline constructive dismissal.
Kone at £8/10m could still be a backup option or a prospect for a prem club so not clear cut.
You will note I did say rightly or wrongly. In a failed attempt to avoid dragging that up. In any case it does not matter what you,I , or anyone else thinks. I suspect Rice thinks he walked out . It in this context that I was commenting .
I don’t think they are putting this structure in place because MB left and it disrupted things.
I think it’s much more likely the club wanted to be this sort of structure in place because, historically across the football industry, when a manger leaves - either by sacking or moving up - it leaves a huge vacuum that needs to be filled over and over again. I think they recognised that if the club is upwardly mobile, as they want it to be, that increases the chances of your head coach/manager being poached by a “bigger club” and that cycle having to go back to ground zero. It’s succession planning at its most basic level - see where the potential issues are and structure things to mitigate them before it happens.
The BIG problem is that in doing so, and removing responsibilities from a manager to individuals that are specialise in a specific area, is that you can marginalise your incumbent manager by removing the things he is doing that may well have been a part of making him successful.
That’s why, imo, MB felt - and was - marginalised. He was having his influence and his people stripped away from him to fit the new structure. That’s why he left/was forced out.
Yes I am sure your are correct and it’s actually what they said . I was actually focusing on what the other poster said. His take was that is was “ruthless” and they were effectively giving him notice. I was countering this really . If I had not been I would have written something similar to yourself.
I also agree with what you have said about why Bloomfiled left .
Please keep this thread on the topic of rumours.
I heard a rumour that Bloomfield was sacked.
This is fast becoming your catchphrase
It definitely feels like it! Maybe we should bring back early 00s forum signatures and this could be mine.

This should be @OxfordBlue’s new phrase! (I’m pulling your leg btw)
Thank god.
Don’t sell Kone unless a bid of worth more than promotion comes in.
Or if a bid comes in that involves a loan back for the season arrangement
Talk from Chesterfield fans that Berry might be heading back there. Not sure if loan or permanent but would be disappointed with that as he’s never really been given a good go
Would surprise given he’s impressed in pre-season so far.
On their forum the majority don’t seem to want him back and many question his attitude.
