New striker or a new terrace if you had to pick?
New coffee machine at one of the training grounds.
Just realised we’ve got more training grounds than strikers.
While reluctant to challenge the Master, “odious” is quoted many times in the Bible including Genesis and Exodus.
While reluctant to challenge the beast, the Bible wasn’t written in English.
The 1382 John Wycliffe Bible includes the word odious.
Micra said the phrase “comparisons are odious” originated in the 1400s. Not the word odious itself.
Wow, cannot believe that you don’t think Duff is not much of an upgrade. Dodds was absolutely clueless.
You guys are conspiring to keep me going today!
He does think “Duff” is not much of an upgrade. What he actually said was that he didn’t think “Duff” was much of an upgrade.
Not sure what he’s on to think that.
Tbf, the end of the season run under Duff is as worrying as the start of last season under Dodds.
If we have a similarly awful start to this season as we did under Dodds then - without looking at the stats - it feels like both periods from Feb and into the new season for both managers would look eerily similar.
I happen to think Duff will turn it around and it won’t be a problem.
I’m certain he will. There’s absolutely no comparison.
May I refer you to the statement by the right horrible @Malone .
Sorry. Right honourable.
You cheeky rascal, I was backing you up.
Wrong Malone. I’m a cheeky bastad.
It’s one of the crazier takes in recent history.
Dodds having taken over a superb team sat 2nd in the league and barely winning a game, barely scoring a goal and making almost every single player look worse than their ability.
Continuing that into last season where form was so worrying it looked like a relegation battle could be a possibility.
Simply put, the fella never once put any sort of run in, or looked even remotely decent.
Whereas Duff came in, got results immediately, actually won a couple of games in a row and made the playoffs look a distinct possibility, before injuries and a lack of strikers brought us down.
A big difference between the 2. Albeit such a low level with Dodds it wouldn’t have taken much!
There is absolutely no way we finish outside the playoffs this season with the squad we have.
No way. I’m not shifting from this hill and will be dying on it. I have my sword and my shield.
I’m extremely confident about our season and very excited. The boys looked super sharp and up for it against Pompey and expecting a similar result today with the team Duff has selected.
If it does end up being Cook and Anders as the two CB’s, I feel sad for Casey.
I’m feeling quite optimistic we’ll achieve 70-odd points this season. Whether that’s enough for play-offs we’ll have to wait and see.
I’m never usually optimistic. This is bad.
I think he’s splitting hairs. And that phrase was first coined by Robert Boyle in 1674![]()
Why feel sad for Casey, injuries, loss of form, suspensions, squad rotation etc will mean he will get his chance very quickly to stake his claim.
