As far as I can see Wareham remains an Exeter player with no concrete news of any rejected bids.

Nope but we may well have finished much further down the league if he hadn’t. It depends doesn’t it? If you have one player scoring 20 goals and nobody else chipping in then yes you have a point,but if you have a 20 goal man and the rest of the team are knocking them in too then you have the best scenario.
I still think it’s better to have a 20 goal man . Kone could have been that man but after his injury his goals dried up. How many games did he still need to win for us (depsite others still scoring) I can think of a few.
Promoted teams rarely fail to have a couple of players in the top 5 goal scorers each season I think.
That’s what I read earlier this week that no interest whatsoever at the reported £2.5M or at all.
Exeter will be desperate for a good sale.
Most clubs wont want to pay that for a player that has had 1 good season, I imagine clubs will to in late in the window at a lower fee and a bidding war will start. Exeter need the cash so will be desperate to sell
I doubt he will go for more than £1.5 million given he has less than a year on his contract. Can’t really see a championship club going for him either.

When we were in the Automatic promotion places just over 18 months ago, the manager had the following forwards to pick from…
Kone, Onyedinma, McCleary, Lubala, Udoh, Hanlan, Kodua, Wheeler, Sadlier (and even Vokes was still in the squad).
Currently it’s Fink, Tezgel, Woodrow, Onyedinma, Quitirna, Thomas and Olibayi.
Blooms was spoilt for choice compared to Duff.
Absolutely. It’s not about a 20 goal man - that might happen by happy accident - but, like @Midlander said, it’s about having the options to rotate. We ran Fred into the ground last season because we’d given all our forwards away. Woodrow doesn’t look his best when he plays number 9. Fink doesn’t look his best when he plays. Currently, if Tezgel gets injured, we’ve got nothing.

Tbf It’s currently unkown the impact three of the players on your current list will have.
If Tegzel carries on scoring,Thomas and Olibayi come good it may be a better group than Bloomfield had.
Also Sadlier was almost always on the treatment table (as were Vokes and Hanlan).
Can’t really say it is objectivity when you express subjective opinion plus transfer window shuts in September.

Still, gives opportunities to the academy players, which is no bad thing.

Interesting comments from Michael Duff to Sam Avery today: “We’ve had million pound plus bids for players and been blown out the water … it’s not for the want of trying … we’ve been sensible … but we still want two, one definitely, maybe one more … one or two could leave but that’s down to them.”

You can’t really use the 93/94 Scott example as he was sold before even the half way mark of the season!

Now that is an incredible statement for a 3rd tier Wycombe manager to be making. What a time to be alive!!
Doesn’t particularly feel a wise thing to say but perhaps news of bids and money available is as obvious to those in the game as release clauses etc.
