Summer 2026 transfer window

Obviously ideally no. However if he is never going to get up to league 1 standard you will be paying him wages anyway and taking up a registered slot. £1m is nothing to Lommy, although it would of course affect our EFL budget restrictions.

According to this weeks podcast Norris is leaving at the end of the season. If true may aswell give MVS a few games, although you’d assume he’s leaving too.

I am with you apart from Vidigal, I appreciate he has scored two goals but I am not sure I would give him a contract beyond this season.

Which podcast?

The heroes of HP12, the only independent Wycombe fan pod that I know of anyway. I’ve said it before but well worth a listen, @DevineInspiration and the guys do a great job.

So I gave it another go following your recommendation.

Three blokes sitting in the corner of The Vere having a moan. Or have I missed something?

I think they are saying what all true supporters are thinking. We do need a statement of intent on whether we want to challenge for the play-offs next season or not, (as per the podcast).

I’m gonna guess not, since they successfully sabotaged the last two chances of promotion.

In other news I see that the player of the season vote is out - I heard that @Chairboys80 voted for Will Norris

I heard he voted for Fink.

Not even Fink voted for Fink

Fink has to be loaned out until Xmas. Give him a chance to play and see if he can earn a place in the squad by Jan.

Same for Lowry.

I agree. After losing 2-1 to Bradford, he has been posting on Instagram all week about his goal. We lost mate. if I was the manager or captain, I would not be having that at all.

Looks like he is trying to put himself in the shop window - which I suppose is fair enough in some ways but just let your football do that talking. If I was looking to sign a player, I am not signing someone that posts all over instagram about themselves after a defeat that ultimately ended our season.

I know people that know of Lowry and they have suggested that he has always had a bad attitude. I am sorry, but if you can’t get that right for League 1 with Wycombe, then you will not make it with anyone. Mark my words, in 2 or 3 years time, Alex Lowry will either be playing non-league, or not playing at all. Such a waste of talent.

I would honestly have concerns with any manager to move up the leagues, if he is more concerned about someone’s Instagram over getting the potential out of a player.

So, just looked, not really seeing anything apart that would or should upset anyone.

On the day of the game - he posted videos of his goal - at least 3 of them. Do you think Luke Leahy (who I consider to have a good attitude towards our club) would do that??? I don’t know how old you are @benk and whilst I respect people’s opinions, in my day you would be ridiculed, fined and dropped for the next game if you behaved like that. Duff talks about the lack of mentality in the squad. What Vidigal’s behaviour suggests to me is that his thinking is “as long as I score, I don’t care”

Duff has already dropped the bloke for turning up late and not doing the basics right. If he’s serious about building a strong team spirit then I can’t see Vidi being more than a stopgap to put in the shop window. But people and things can change so we’ll see…

Im 46. I strongly suspect Vidigal has someone posting his Instagram.

Footballers posting on Instagram is generally common. I dont think Leahy and Vidigal are comparable.

I dont thinkna footballer posting a goal, especially when one of his posts is an actual club post hes tagged into, is anything any manager needs to get get up on.

In modern football, you have to work with all sorts of players, if you try and act strong over little things, you aren’t going to get far in the game.

Its been said before that these are the sort of players you need to manage to get up the leagues.

You make some good points. The whole social media thing is another thing that needs to be managed that perhaps wasn’t as prominent before. But honestly, do you think Fred would post a goal on his Instagram on the day of a defeat that ended our season? Do you think Woodrow would? Do you not think it’s a little distasteful to the fans that have effectively seen our season end on the very same day? If you asked Jack Grimmer or Dan Harvie what they thought, do you think they would say what you have just said?

I just think it looks bad, especially after it being made public that he has been unprofessional in the past. There is a good player in there, but if we are talking about mentality and attitude - then that is definitely not what this club needs.

Wait until Duff discovers his Bebo account…
