I don’t think anyone was disappointed to see Bakinson go. I assume he’s one of those blasted by Wellens for putting in no effort as he took laid back to lying down levels. That home game against Charlton when he got a mystery recall? Shudder.

Meanwhile, back in the world of idle speculation, there’s a beautiful picture on the back page of today’s BFP of Cauley Woodrow and Fred celebrating a goal. If ever you needed a perfect example of a picture painting a thousand words, this is it, and it put the idea into my head that the pair might both be returning whence they came. I would find that doubly sad.

Depends how many others would have scored in the same games for a true loss.
But Yes Fred feels a big loss. Woodrow I think we can be more relaxed about.
Though I can’t imagine anyone could be truly confident about how the summer will go.
Oh for an equivalent summer to the one we signed JJ, Jombati, Pierre, Hayes,Murphy and Mawson!

You must have. It was nothing short of hysteria.They blamed everything on him. “weasel” and “rat” were two labels frequently used.
Genuinely no recollection at all of any anger about the Bakinson release.

Of all the players not to get worked up about leaving, Bakinson would rank among the highest. He barely played and when he did was pretty average. No great loss.

this is some sort of weird wind up, surely?
If I saw Backinson in the squad last season I knew we had run out of fit players and/or ideas and at best we’d get a draw.
I’m sure he’s a lovely guy, but his football performances didn’t inspire me.
