If Aribo was a free agent prior to the window closing, he can sign for us whenever. Club would likely be awaiting paperwork/medical etc. If he’s released after the window, he can’t join. I believe he was released in July though. Decent signing on paper, though the images of him in a Wycombe shirt look very AI and I’m dubious about the source.
I know Leahy was very close to a move, but wouldn’t be surprised if it was scuppered with Harvie’s injury. I thought Anders looked a bit lost on the left, he was right in front of me in the second half. Maybe I’m wrong. Would be much happier with Leahy starting there.
I’ve not seen Wareham play yet but I think he’s the only one on that list I’d describe as a meaningful upgrade. Several look like downgrades based on what I’ve seen this far. Early days of course.

That Aribo story looks pretty detailed for a made up story.
The source account does have a lot of followers. Would be an interesting profile of player - my understanding is he’s a bit of a box-to-box/fairly attacking number 8. That’s great, though if anything in centre midfield I’d be going for a big, bulky DM to add steel.
Barely played last season but is only 30 and has great top flight and international experience.
I think they are an upgrade on the 2nd or 3rd choice previously in that position but may not be better than the current 1st choice. This is the way I’m choosing to look at it. The squad has improved even if they are not all better than last years starters.
2 keepers are better than Van Sas and arguably 1st choice Norris
Cook is better than Skura but Casey, Taylor and Anders seem his equal if not slightly better.
Parker is better than Fin Back and jury out if he is better than Huggins but doesn’t seem worse so far. Grimmer keeps the jersey for me.
Wareham is better than Fink and Woodrow.
Mothersille is better than Lowry and Vidigal, should be on a par with Bell.
Thomas is on a par with Lowry and could become Vidigal equal with a bit of time.
Woodrow permanent vs on loan - he’s also an upgrade on Fink as 2nd choice as #9 behind Wareham.
Overall, whilst it doesn’t feel we have signed too many game changing starters, the squad is stronger than last seasons. Especially with Scowen returning from injury as well.

Exactly, no cover for one of our most influential players. Just daft.
I think once we see Wareham and Summerville up to speed we will be an entirely different propsition. I have to say that Anders and Casey being back could be equally influential . They both looked strong,sharp and quick last night. Both were excellent.
When those two where all of the above(over 12 games or so) last season,our defence was excellent. I think a combination of these improvements will have a positive knock on throughout the team. My biggest worry is not just Left back but also right back. I know people have been knocking Grimmer for a couple of seasons,and a lot of criticism has been unfair,but this season he really does look of seriously off the pace. I don’t think this observation is unfair at all now.
Scowen looked back to more like his best when he came on last night to me,and I can only hope the tenacity and passion of Wareham can put some spark back into Fred.
Ultimately I left last night feeling frustrated by the officials and the result,but actually quite optimistic because of what I conclude above.

that’s last season’s shirt and there is no confirmation from WWFC.
Just a thought on Cook and Taylor as our ‘first choice’ centre back pairing.
I wonder whether we (the club rather than us supporters) see Taylor as a long-term investment as a centre-back.
He is prone to regular errors but he is fairly inexperienced and I wonder whether part of the reason for bringing someone like Cook in was to aid his development?
Connor Taylor has 170 league games at 24. Hes not really inexperienced.
I purely think they played Taylor because they signed Cook, so wanted a tall centre half alongside him, instead of Casey.
Cool was signed as first choice, some fans thought he was signed as captain.

Casey offers something different to all the others, I think - pace and aggression. He also competes really well in the air, like Paul McCarthy, in spite of his stature, because of his determination and strength. I’d start with him and then choose the other central defender(s) to suit.
It surprises me that Duff seems preoccupied with height in his centre back pairing, given the great career that he made for himself in that position at 6ft 1in.

Hes also comfortable on the ball and can pick a pass. And, as many alluded, is a leader on the pitch.
He can be a bit impulsive but can generally make up for it.
I’ve said it before ( repetitive, me?) But him abd Anders are the best pairing. Its why Cook surprised me, when signed.

I dont think many of our players are better than Lowry. We just failed to get the best out of him (see Motherwell tonight)

Yet if we played Motherwell we would get spanked. He has also started games in Europe for them against Helsinki and Freiburg.
