Summer 2026 transfer window

Musk rumoured to be leaving Spacex to become CEO of OpenAI.

I read it on twitter before joining a nazi rally.

Well the fascist salute Musk gave the other month doesn’t help your argument, but it was you who introduced the ‘politics’ bit to the thread (again).

All that @NewStyleOfPlay did was give a handy alternative to giving a very rich person even more money. That wasn’t a political comment until you (and maybe your paranoia) determined it was.

Chill. No-one is attempting to shut you down. By the look of it quite a few don’t want to listen to you but that is their choice.

I will plead guilty to “mocking” certain views which on a personal level I find distasteful and threatening to people I love, as I find it an effective and therapeutic tool.

In the same way, please feel free to mock my liberal, wishy-washy views. Plenty do and I rarely take offence!

Morning all. So we are signing Elon Musk on loan from X, have I got that right?

Everyone is free to discuss politics ad nauseam, but please move conversations that veer that way into the right topic.

The Gasroom has a fine tradition of posts veering into weird and wonderful tangents and long may it continue. But most posters don’t come here for politics, which can quickly turn very divisive.

Back on topic, I was reading some Plymouth comments on Hazard on Reddit. The consensus is that he’s one of the finest shot stoppers they’ve had in recent memory, but his distribution and command of area is poor.

Frankly, this is just the reality of any L1 keeper. If you’re a great shot stopper, and you have good distribution and good command of area, you play in the Premier League. If you’ve got 2 of those 3, you play in the Championship. If you’ve only consistently got one, you play below that.

Sorry. My fault. I will do

Hi Oxford Blue. I see that you have a photo of the cutting between Stockenchurch and Lewknor as your profile picture! Do you live in that area?

Should this enquiry be in the transfer window thread!!

I grew up around there (Sydenham & Lewknor) although haven’t lived in the area for nearly 10 years.

It’s in part just a nod to my username, as it sits on the border of Oxon and Bucks. But it’s also one of the few places where, upon driving through it, I have an overwhelming sense of feeling like I’m home.

I grew up in Lewknor too. Moved to Thame around 45 years ago.

Back to transfers and potentially hazardous signings, the numerous Argyle fans currently offering their opinions (on one of our own Facebook pages) about our first summer signing are mostly alarmingly scathing in their criticism of him.

One of the more cogent comments.

Sorry if this is a bit messy. My recent struggles with the technology are well documented.

I’m surprised you go on there given the literacy levels on display.

Someone on the Gasroom suggested he was an awful signing and would be the new Michael Duberry.

Scott Mitchell has already left Oxford and gone to Leyton Orient to be their director of football.

But I thought they were the dream combo?

(Quickly hot foots it off before the usuals start)

On paper, a Director of Football is a higher profile job than a Head of Recruitment and hence promotion.

Do I qualify as a “usual”?

I thought he’d gone to Sunderland or Newcastle or somewhere like that? Who am i thinking of?

Yeah, it was announced he’d gone to Newcastle only last month or so. Bit weird. Anyone shine any light on the matter?

He certainly moves about a bit.
