Na, with his height, he’ll be challenging Connor Taylor at Centre Back… I bet he’d win more headers than Taylor did!
He played 45 league games for Coluscum last season!
Just the second choice keeper signing we wanted. Keeps Hazard on his toes.
And absolutely no way back for Norris now with Van Sas on his way too.
He looks like a career number two. Which is exactly what we need.
massively unnecessary for me …MVS and Hazard fighting for number 1 would be fine…Duff is too old school and only wants experienced old players…disappointing really
Another ex Plymouth goalkeeper . How odd.
All clubs have players that were legendary bad players for them. We have Mark Foran, Trevor Aylott and George Weah’s mate whose name I have forgotten. It’s not always fair as the likes of Donancien (spelling?) showed elsewhere but the legends persist. Matt Macey is one of Plymouth’s leading legendary bad players.
That’s enough negativity from you again for me - back to mute you go for a few weeks
jesus …such a shrinking violet
Don’t know if that’s Van Sas gone for good or on loan. If he was to stay at Wycombe he needed a season long loan away anyway.
MVS is shit though
So are we strengthening from the back going forward?
Could be a plan…
Only if you consider last season to be 2024/25 - which most of us don’t any longer.
Would like to see MVS go out on loan for a year, get regular game time and see how he performs. He clearly wasn’t up to standard yet but with age on his side, there must have been something behind signing him. Get some experience and assess next summer. Same goes for Fink.
I’m concerned that both keeper signings highlight their command of the box and shot stopping but are quiet on their distribution skills. We seem to be moving away from the model I thought the club wanted to introduce of playing through the thirds and back to an old fashioned Stryjek type of hit it hard and long and hope it doesn’t come straight back at you. It does suggest that Duff is having a real say in the transfer policy, which many of you will welcome. But fills me with great nervousness.
Is this new signing ‘one of his mates’?
Actually Wikipedia may be wrong on those appearance figures!
Duff style is very late 80s football…big, strong and physical players..will try to bully teams rather than trying to play football …next season will be hoof ball…not looking forward to it
Matt Macey played 45 league games in the 2025-26 season (ie the season which ended last month).
I am. Long ball is winning football at League 1 level. Passing sideways in own half isn’t.
football is an entertainment business…
