Get Harvie back fit (by the sounds of it it won’t be long, maybe next week) Wareham gets a full weeks training with the squad and we can seriously build relationships on the pitch to kick us on. We’re a little bit late to the party, but we will be there. Under Dodds there were no signs of anything. Duff has proven he knows the league at other clubs, and he showed a lot last year what he’s about. It’ll click, have patience. Not deluded to the point we’ve not won a game yet, I do feel an easier run of games are coming and we now need to start getting points on the board, starting at Orient.
Not sure I agree I thought he looked bright today when he came on and was where you’d want him to be. The delivery during the “lottery” of the last 10 was much more concerning to me.
I admire your optimism, but most of the players out there today have been together over a year, under the same manager. They should have built relationships by now.

I’ve met Dan Rice in person and he’s everything id imagined he would be. In my line of work people like him tend to get whats coming to them.

Seems like the perfect opportunity to remove Rice and bring back Bloomfield. Can’t quite undo everything that has gone wrong over the last few seasons but it would be a start.

Let’s not forget failed expo-stall salesman Eduardo though. I’m sure his many incompetencies have played a vital part in helping the failed little-league scout be as incompetent as he can possibly be.
The Academy seems to be progressing well enough and the plans they drew up for Farnham Park seem impressive, although it is the wrong setting and seems to ignore the covenants on the land - though that is not Rice’s issue but the planning authority to deal with. Rice at least seems competent in this area.
If I was Lommy I would move Rice to be COO of the Academy and all non first team activities.
Bring in a proper COO of First Team Activities.
What we will see, dependent on who are next Head Coach is, is whether the players signed are over performing, underperforming or performing at the current level.

Under the Supporters Trust, and Couhig, there used to be a clear reason for newcomers to support Wycombe rather than Arsenal or Chelsea: it was a sense of community, belonging, and a connection not just with fellow fans but with the club itself.
Since Dan Rice came in as chairman, that’s been compromised significantly. The club’s charming sense of identity, that used to glow dark & light blue quarters right across the Chilterns like a shining beacon, now doesn’t illuminate quite so brightly.
That’s not to say Rice couldn’t be capable within a certain role. He’s an intelligent guy, fairly respected in the industry, with some good processes for identifying top talent - but he’s not fit to represent that club as chairman.
I posted way back on Gasroom 2.0 that Rice was destroying the club and got the same reaction from the same gasroomers as Gab got here. He’s erasing the club’s history because to him it’s Dan Rice Wanderers, he wants a cult of personality and nothing more. If you’re not willing to lick his clown shoes, you’re out.

Spot on. Talk to anyone who works in EFL football and they’ll tell you the Dan Rice Wanderers horror stories - there are many. Gab has obviously spoken to a lot of people and probably heard quite a few of them.

It’s hard to say whether this is the most exciting era of Wycombe Wanderers’ history, or the most disillusioning.
On the one hand, the long-term potential of the club under Mikheil Lomtadze’s ownership is arguably greater than it’s ever been.
Huge infrastructural strides were made under Rob Couhig, and have continued under the Kazakhstani billionaire’s ownership, with the Chairboys boasting fantastic training facilities at Marlow Road, and more staff in place to smoothen internal processes.
Meanwhile, the calibre of player the club can attract is unheard of: 15 of their 24-man squad have, at one level or another, represented their country, while seven of them have featured in European club competitions.
In playmaker Aaron Morley, box-to-box man Caolan Boyd-Munce and gifted wide forward Fred Onyedinma, plus committed full-backs in Jack Grimmer and Dan Harvie, they have a great core of players, that experienced former Premier League defender Steve Cook should slot straight into.
Plus, they’ve strengthened in the loan market: right-back Sam Parker from Swansea is a sumptuous talent, and Emre Tezgel, once sought after by some of European football’s biggest names, arrives from Stoke to address the striker void.
With some extremely appealing profiles to supplement that six-man core, and those two loanees, as well as a top League One manager in Michael Duff, they have a team of great capability on paper.
The question we would ask, however, is at what cost?

Whereas, when Rice was asked a question about that in April’s Fans Forum, his answer was vague, and his first instinct had seemed to be to look for somebody else to take it on which, fairly or otherwise, makes it hard not to infer a lack of enthusiasm for that aspect of his responsibility.
By extension, if you don’t care much about community in the literal sense (i.e. Wycombe Wanderers Foundation), you’re possibly less likely to care about it in the figurative, in terms of the values with which you operate internally.
That might seem like a large jump to conclusion, because it’s hard to say definitively without being in the room, but there’s often no smoke without fire:

The true magic of Wycombe, however, is not in how they are alike Premier League clubs – it’s in how they are different.
Personally couldn’t give a fuck about Gab Sutton and his army of twitter hangers on. Blokes sitting around in bedrooms whinging about everything and belittling the views of others who disagree. Tiresome.
However there is undoubtedly some truth in the fact that many people have been thrown under the bus by the new regime. For example who can ever forget the sacking of Scott Mitchell by Edvard - eye witness accounts of that made my skin crawl.
As we saw under Gaz culture takes years to build but very little time to break down. Not sure who is going to build it back up in the current cabal operating as a leadership team.
