Wycombe based podcast

Continuing the discussion from Former WWFC Footballers:

Now that I can’t be downvoted perhaps you will allow me to post the following which might be of interest:

Wycombe legends Martin O’Neill, Gareth Ainsworth and Bayo Akinfenwa feature in a newly launched podcast called Shall we sing a song 4U.

The podcast explores the links between football and music, two of the nation’s favourite pastimes, and is co-hosted by former Blues manager Ainsworth, lead singer in rock band The Cold Blooded Hearts, and ex-Wanderers director, broadcaster Alan Parry.

Said Parry: ‘We have guests from the world of football talking about their love of music and well known names from the entertainment business chatting about their favourite football teams. Martin O’Neill and Bayo have some very surprising tastes in music whilst another of our guests Henning Wehn tells us how he became a big Wycombe fan.’

Continuing the Wanderers theme, the podcast is produced in partnership with major club sponsor Cherry Red Records.

Shall we sing a song 4U is available on the usual platforms including X, YouTube and Instagram.

Would never have thought Martin O’Neill was a Cradle of Filth fan.

(Suppose I ought to listen to the podcast to see if this is true)

Splendid!

Is there an RSS link for podcast players for those of us who don’t use X etc?

I can’t find it on my usual players.

Sorry, I’m the complete opposite of an expert on these social media platforms so I haven’t got a clue, just wrote what the producer told me!

Just started listening to the third one. As much as I’m looking forward to listening to Bayo - where’s Timmy Mallet?

I enjoyed hearing Gaz and Bayo’s views on data

I don’t have any say in the order in which they are released but Timmy’s episode has been recorded and will be available soon.

I guessed they were being released in a different order to how they were recorded as you mention the Timmy Mallett episode at the start of this one

I look forward to the Matt Bloomfield episode @glasshalffull1

I am listening in order so just finished the Stuart Pearce one. As he’s my age his talk of punk and Cloughie never gets old.
As an avid podcast listener, quality stuff @glasshalffull1 .

The Ian Gillan Band, some hall in Hemel Hempstead, 1981

Probably the Levellers at Margate Winter Gardens at some point in the 90s

Having tried to marry my dodgy memory with Google search I think in terms of ‘proper’ gigs it would have been Hawkwind at the Ipswich Gaumont October 1976.

One piece of trivia whilst I was meandering through my memories/Google that I hadn’t realised. I saw the Stiffs live (Elvis Costello, Wrecless Eric, etc) tour at UEA a year later - apparently the first date of the tour was at High Wycombe. Anyone see it there? (Oct 1977)

Sex Pistols. Wycombe College. 1976.

Not really.

Queen. Wembley Arena. 1984.

I was at the Town Hall for the opening night of the Stiffs Tour. Came out to HW in my (t)rusty Hillman Avenger!
