Wycombe based podcast

Not podcast related but not sure where else this fits but the latest issue of When Saturday Comes has the 1973/74 Isthmian League campaign as their Season in Brief feature, with the Blues nicking the title from previous year’s champions Hendon. One stat that stood out was that across 42 games that season we picked up a solitary yellow card.

What a season that was. And I think we repeated the 1 booking all season the following season too.

Enfield (I think - may have been Ilford) wereconsidered a really dirty team as they’d had 8 bookings by Christmas (or something like that)

Halcyon days

I bet @DevineInspiration’s Podcast chat is going crazy! Good luck to you guys trying to unpick and post a “balanced” view on this horror show on Wednesday!

I am not looking forward to it in the slightest to be honest. There isn’t enjoyment in this at all. It’s just sad.

100% agree. It’s almost gone against what Adam said this week where he thought Dodds/the club had listened to us. The really frustrating thing is that the penny hasn’t dropped with Dodds, he needs to adapt and change his thought-process to get s different result, the question is why hasn’t he……?

It’s the point that’s being made for weeks. Adaptability, flexibility and playing to player strengths.

The players have to fit the mold at this club - and then when they go to other clubs and they’re given freedom, they’re free scoring.

Our club is doing the same thing again and again and expecting the same result. It is insanity.

Do we know if there is going to be a Podcast this week? I know they had issues with their software last week but its normally live by now?

I was hoping I’d have it on my drive this morning. Maybe it’s just a bit late

@DevineInspiration

On your bit about the County Cup, here is some intel for you

While the competition is labelled as a “Senior” competition, the EFL clubs have agreed with B&B FA that they will be using the competition for their youth players. I was once on the line for an MK Dons game in the competition and the question was asked there (as the opposition was disappointed there were no first team names on the team sheet).

If an EFL club wanted a first team member to play, they need written permission from the B&B FA & need to inform their opposition too. Another thing is that all EFL (& Conference) teams will always be avoided from being drawn to play each other and these teams will be the away team. This is to help the smaller teams in the competition with gate receipts & money that they will generate from that fixture.

The only time that EFL will be drawn together is from the Semi-finals

That is very interesting thank you!

Did we need permission for Hartridge then

I never knew any of this, thanks!

Good afternoon @DevineInspiration, I was just wondering, Is the Podcast going to be recorded tonight or will it be done tomorrow night because of the B&B Cup match at Penn?
