Wycombe Wanderers Women

A reminder that the Firsts host Billericay Town tonight, in the Isthmian Women’s Cup 2nd Round. Kick-off at the earlier time of 7:30pm, at the 1878 Stadium, Wymers Wood Road, Burnham SL1 8JG.

Billericay were beaten finalists last season in this cup, losing 5-0 at home to Chatham Town, and they are hosting this year’s competition as well. The Blues are finding life hard in tier 3 National Southern Premier, having lost all seven league games, and three Cup games as well. Last season they finished second from bottom but avoided relegation because of divisional allocations. Only a handful of players remain from last season, the new players are still adjusting to this level. Even so, I expect them to be very competitive and favourites.

The last time the Chairgirls played a tier 3 side was in 2018-19 when, as a tier 6 side, they lost 3-0 to MK at Flackwell College in the B & B semi-final. They were only one down until late into the game. I think tier 3 is stronger these days, but so are the Chairgirls. It should be an intriguing game and I will be there.
