Today’s results. Fleet were unable to field a team against Reading. Oxford City won the Oxon Senior Cup.

We will know our opponents in the Combined Counties Cup SF when Sutton United host Chatham Town in the QF this Tuesday evening.

According to CCL’s Martin Etheridge, if Sutton win we will be away to them on Tuesday 19th May. If Chatham win we will be away on either 19th or 21st May.

Carl Simon reflects on a Championship winning season. I’m really pleased for Carl, he has worked hard and improved the team each season, and the experienced signings last summer was a masterstroke.

He mentions the never ending season and tonight Chatham Town won 5-1 at Sutton United in the Combined Counties Cup, so we will travel to the Chats on Tuesday or Thursday next week in the semi-final.

Very tough game, Chatham have some excellent players who have played much higher up the pyramid.

Indeed, this will probably be the toughest game of the season. The Chats manager Keith Boanas said after the Sutton game that losing to them would not have broken his heart because some of the girls wanted to go on holiday. He is respectful of Wycombe, interview here - https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1BDaLaHXFv/

The men’s league allocations for next season were released today but the women will probably have to wait another three weeks. Last season it was on Wednesday 4th June, so expect around 3rd June.

The FAWNL fixtures were released on Tuesday 25th July last season, and the league programme starts on 17th August this season.

The overextended CCL Cup and the earlier season start means the Chairgirls will not have their usual six week break, more like 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 weeks, Carl said, depending on the Chatham result. A good break is important for part-time players.

The U16s were due to play their last match of the season tomorrow, against Luton Town U16s at Burnham. It was originally scheduled to be played last Saturday, but that was the day the U16s played their JPL Trophy match at Corby. The Hatters have now conceded, unable to raise a team, so the U16s have completed their season.

The U18s play their final game tomorrow, in the league away to Ascot U18s, who have finished second behind Crystal Palace. The Chairgirls lost 3-2 to Ascot in the reverse fixture in March.

Steve
Have you heard where and when the first team might be presented with their league champions trophy?

No Alan, nor heard any more about a friendly this week.

@AlanCecil @StevePeart The friendly was played last night against Penn & Tylers Green, we were unable to fully stream live but you can watch the full match replay here. I understand that the trophy was presented at this game too, but it’s little hard to see given the camera distance.

Shame then that this local derby friendly wasn’t publicised in advance so that supporters could attend and join the celebration.

Does that conclude the U18s season?

Yes, U16s and U18s have both finished. Tables as they stand, some unfinished business for some teams.

A surprise defeat for Portchester today. Flyers finish second.

I completely missed this, I can only see it announced by Chatham. There is no game tonight and the season has finished for the Chairgirls.

I fully understand the reasoning. This is the problem with the CCL allowing the competition to carry on way past the end of the season. It took nearly three weeks for Sutton and Chatham to play their game (Edit - it took four weeks once they knew they were playing each other).
