Wycombe Wanderers Women

Thank you Steve for keeping us up to date with the women’s teams as well as the academy and the cricket. I genuinely enjoy and value your input.

Sounds like a good signing, will help with the gaps left due to those darned ACL injuries.

It certainly is a statement signing, Mimi was Players’ Player of the Season at Abingdon last season, that’s the one I think the players value the most. The divisional POTS award is voted on by the other teams so that shows how highly regarded is at this level. She shared that with Swindon Town’s prolific scorer Annie Colston.

According to playerstats.com, Mimi turned 19 years old yesterday. She was not the main scorer at Abingdon, that is Molly Lygo. Mimi scored 5 goals in 18 starts in the league last season, with another four sub appearances. The previous season it was 3 goals in six starts, with another 11 sub appearances. She made her senior debut at the end of 2023-24, scoring in her first start. Mimi has a reputation for scoring long range shots. From the few videos I have seen of her she is a quick, high energy player.

It is an interesting move for her, from an established club at tier 4. We know that the Foundation are very ambitious for W3, no doubt Carl Simon sold the club’s ambitions to her. Perhaps she knows some of our players, perhaps we offered her more money, if we have a bigger budget this season. I understand tier 4 is when you can start awarding contracts to players but we don’t know if she was in a contract. Do players move for fees at this level?

“It’s fantastic to have Mimi on board. Her technical ability is exceptional and everyone at the club is excited to work with her and see what this season brings.” - @CarlSimon57

I can see that the Chairgirls are at home to Chelsea U21 on Thursday 27 August at 19:45, in the National League Cup. I cannot find the other teams in the group. This stage runs until 27 September when the qualifiers proceed into Round 1, on 1 November, and when the non-qualifiers start in the Plate competition.

Thanks for all that info and fixtures Steve, great work.

19 year old Natalia has four seasons of tier 4 experience in the South East Division. Starting at Chesham United in 2022-23, she scored 18 goals in 43 league starts for the Generals, before joining QPR in March 2025, where she scored 1 goal in 2 league starts. In October last season she joined Luton Town, starting 8 league games and scoring 2 goals.

Is she related to Wiktor Makowski, formerly of Flackwell Heath and Slough Town?

Yes, they are brother and sister. goal scoring siblings. Wiktor is now at Worthing and was NLS young player of the year last year after winning the league with them (joining part way through the season).

An even more interesting signing, goalscoring is in the genes!

The First team fixtures are loaded on wnl.thefa.com W3 fixtures, but not yet on fulltime.thefa.com or wwfc.com.

Kick-off 14:00 apart from the midweek games against Chelsea, and both league games against Abingdon. The B & B First round will probably be played on 18 October and usually takes precedence over league games, so Marine Academy Plymouth may be rescheduled. There are several spare Sundays after Christmas. We await news on which midweek competitions, if any, we will enter. Chatham Town were awarded the Combined Counties Cup last season, after AFC Portchester withdrew from the final.

Last season three matches were staged at Adams Park, including the BCD game against Penn & Tylers Green at the end of the season. If matches can be staged at Adams Park again then I would hope at least five will be allowed, if W3 want that, as the new pitch looked really good throughout the season. Maidenhead and Abingdon are obvious picks, maybe Bristol Rovers and Gwalia United, and the FA cup if we are drawn at home. Gwalia regularly got over 200 in spite of a relegation season, Bristol Rovers regularly got over 100, occasionally over 200. Figures for Torquay are not available.

The latest ACL Diaries and it looks like good progress.

BTW, in a training evening video last week, I thought I saw goalkeeper Erin Radbourne. It would be good if she rejoined us this season.
