The next game for the U16s is on 17 January, the U18s play next on 10 January.

The Firsts host Beaconsfield Town in the league on Sunday at 13:30, and not 14:00 as listed on the FA fulltime site. More on that tomorrow.

Today’s other results.

A big day for Portchester, the first time in the FA Cup 3rd Round and in front of a record crowd of 446. They were 2-0 down at HT, and a 5-0 loss is very creditable given that Ipswich are a tier 2 team.

The Reading game was abandoned in the first half with Southampton leading 1-0. From the Southampton Twitter:
“Due to a player collapsing in the Reading team the game has been abandoned at the request of the home side. We wish her a speedy recovery.”

A very good win for Sholing over Oxford City and Woodley did well to only lose by one goal against the Flyers.

Latest table.

No team plays until 11 January.

Royston Town FC Women who in the previous round of the Adobe FA Cup beat Bridgwater, who had beat W3 on penalties on the first round, today lost 0-12 away to Southampton FC in the 3rd round.

Southampton Women play in the Womens Super League 2 so a big difference to make up which became even harder when Royston went down to 10 players as they conceded a penalty, a double jeopardy decision that was hotly contested.

A very good first half of the season for the Firsts, unbeaten over 90 minutes, with 78 goals scored and 14 conceded in 17 games.

Reading away was originally scheduled for Sunday 4 January, the same day the men play Wimbledon. Thankfully it is now two weeks later.

Yes, currently listed at Slough.

Two more fixtures for the Firsts have been announced, Sholing away in the league and Beaconsfield at home in the league cup.

It’s Bowers and Pitsea away in the semis of the Isthmian League Cup. You get some tremendous ticks following W3.

Another tier 5 side, they beat Portchester 3-2 at home in the last round, so will be tricky.

I was hoping to get to all the games in this cup, but the M25 on a Tuesday evening is not welcome!

Down to Grays Thurrock and rather near Basildon.

Southend’s the end, I recall. Nice one.

A recap on how the U16 and U18 teams have fared so far. We do not know who is playing or scoring, which is a shame. It gives me a chance to try out the table creation feature, which is very simple to use.

After a five week break, the U18s get underway tomorrow with an attractive looking JPL match at home to Crystal Palace, who are the leaders with four wins and a draw. Kick-off 10:30 at the 1878 Stadium, Wymers Wood Rd, Burnham SL1 8JG.

The Firsts are back in league action on Sunday with a visit to Oxford City on 3G, preview to come. The U16s do not play until next week.

The U18s game against Crystal Palace this morning was postponed. I don’t know the reason, maybe the pitch was frozen. Burnham’s match against North Leigh this afternoon is going ahead.

Edit - note that Palace are playing their U16 team in this U18 league.

Other results today, an important win for the Flyers, coming from one down at HT, to keep the pressure on us.

The U18s match against Crystal Palace U16 was postponed on Friday evening because the kick-off time of 10:00, not 10:30 as advertised, was too early for Palace. It couldn’t be put back to later because Burnham were playing in the afternoon.
